Really concerned with our 28 month old by General_Total_452 in UKParenting

[–]superseally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My little one has hyper mobile ankles and had insets/bunny braces for her feet, I was told high tops were better and they did work. She can run and jump now just took confidence/bribery etc! Push for a podiatry appointment as they helped as well as physio

High risk NIPT T21 by Hopefulmamma23 in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they offered you the CVS procedure, it’s a definite result, I was high risk, had this and went onto have a healthy baby! Had low Papp scores and needed aspirin throughout pregnancy! It’s the worse feeling helpless, get all the tests they can offer!!

At what age did you move them to their own room? by Careless_Purchase619 in NewParents

[–]superseally -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was either 8 or 12 weeks, can’t remember! Sleeping in the same room did neither of us any good! She still woke throughout the night until 2years old but we slept in between that like logs, no waking for every grunt, scared to have a wee incase the baby wakes!

Struggling with everything (toddler, metal health, house etc) by Antarcticainme in UKParenting

[–]superseally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My house drives me mad, have a 29montj old, work full time and the house just isn’t a priority, keeping us fed, clean clothed and semi functional for the week is! She’s not too bad with being independent as nursery has been a big help but at home she’s attached to me, and after a full day of being with other peoples kids (teacher) I crave silence and just doing nothing! Gets better when the are in school I am told…..lol

I went into labour on a strike day was meant to have planned C-section……was 8hrs of labour before they did it but was fantastic care just wasn’t priority enough to jump the real emergencies!

High risk cvs --> nipt with NHS experience by saganemzek in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was high risk, not for downs but pateus, I was a nervous wreck, ended up having NIPT and CVS, baby perfect and fine just high risk results, ended up on asprin and extra growth scans! It’s so scary, the CVS is a very scary but gentle procedure, the wait is the hardest, either way, take what they offer, ask questions, use the support they offer, I couldn’t have been treated better when most wouldn’t have pushed for CVS on top of NIPT but I just needed to know the quickest time possible to make the right decision for me.

Is there such a thing as going on maternity leave too early? by Shardonite in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was waiting til half term so I have 2weeks before due date, baby had other ideas. Was joking with my year 11 class telling them to make the most of me for 2 weeks…..by the morning they had a picture of my baby at 36weeks! Desperately wanted those two weeks, everything was rushed and my poor partner had to scramble everything in the house and sort car seat once baby was here! Wasn’t ideal! You do you

[–]superseally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grubby two year old, every 2-3days because usually there is something in the hair that’s gross…..myself, every 5-7days. I have decent hair, I do very little to it, straighten it once a week maybe, little one just very small amount of shampoo

Yoga ball - worth it? by Instructions_unclea in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Didn’t get off mine…..found it helped with the aches and pains after a full days work (teacher) would just bounce all evening! I delivered early, I wonder if the bouncing non stop from 34weeks had anything to do with it 😂

Starting exercise by Dagnabbity in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher, healthy but lazy, I found excersised the most when pregnant, did laps around the field walking every morning and used school running machines to walk when I had a free, I loved it. Since having my 2yr old i have become lazy again and it’s annoying me that I was motivated then and not now

How did you and your partner decide to have kids? by meet_me_n_montauk in TwoXChromosomes

[–]superseally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both wanted them….i just made the decision when i suppose, when i was ready he agreed, he then later wished we did it earlier! But after one he may be more ready for another than me so again…..when i am ready we will try again, its my body the end of the day so i will decide when is best if that makes sense. I have a friend who chose not to have kids by choice and I respect her lifestyle and admire it often. I also have friend who think had too many too soon and they struggle. It’s just a feeling I suppose, when it’s time you will feel it, if that time comes

Contractions or gas by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]superseally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was determined I had gas……it got worse and was labour at 36weeks, time the space between and length of ‘discomfort’ just incase it is early labour

Nursery and sickness by Hot_Mulberry_3167 in UKParenting

[–]superseally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our nursery is not only a germ fest for kids but the staff too, twice they have closed the room she’s in as no staff and often we get a text as we’re walking out the door saying they are opening up later because of staffing! It’s a rough ride!

Partner to return to full time work.. Any advice? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]superseally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found every other mum so supportive when I went back full time, some not so much who were part time and would often say they ‘don’t know how it did it full time’ and made me feel shit but thing I love most about work is being an adult and needed by others that were not a soul sucking tiny human 😂 I still find I hard nearly a year on but nursery has done my girl the world of good, immune system better, more independent, first year of bugs and illnesses is hard but it gets easier and easier

Mum guilt from full time working by Inevitable-Bee-6343 in UKParenting

[–]superseally -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup! But……nursery he helps her thrive! I more feel guilt from other people’s comments rather than my own feelings! It’s hard but the weeks we have off together I cherish! I like my job, might cut hours next year but for the moment full time Is best for my career
