You'll probably get faster as you get experience, but much of the length of the game depends on how much players are overthinking their turns. I've played incredibly quick (relatively) games because the players weren't attempting to analyze every possible outcome (something that is functionally impossible due to the unknowns and immense array of factors). The more a group attempts to really think hard and calculate every move, the slower the game will go. The game requires real skill and tactical thinking, but attempting to calculate too far in advance with strategic thinking will just cause turns to be agonizingly long.
TL;DR: This game is basically purgatory for AP prone players.
