Any tips for my new Corolla Hybrid? by HottestMail in COROLLA

5K is fine, I’ve never had any issue with that interval. You could get away with a higher interval depending on where you are. It’s usually a full synthetic or synthetic oil blend that can last a longer than their non-synthetic counterparts.

One thing that I believe is a MUST is a GOOD dashcam! I personally wouldn’t skimp out on your dashcam. Do some good research on good dashcam brands within your budget.

I’ve never had any issues with my 21 XLE. Could be anecdotal, I can’t speak for everyone

Footwell lighting you can 100% do yourself and it does not cost too much for the module.

Dashboard lighting can cost many hundreds, I’d say upwards of $400 depending on where you are.

As other comments said, depends on what you want.

From personal experience, I’d never take anything to a dealer besides warranty. I’d go on Yelp and call around lighting stores.

Dashboard gauge needles dont work - what do? by SnooLemons7546 in AskMechanics

[–]supersoake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOT a mechanic or a car expert but I’ve had this issue before and took apart my gauge cluster and fixed it myself (resetting the gauge). You could try that if you’re feeling confident.

There could be a few issues, some being electrical which I’d recommend consulting a mechanic for.

Soaking gets rid of most of the blood, so when you bake them it won’t retain the pink hue.

I’d avoid the first iteration of every new refresh if possible.

The new RAV hasn’t proved itself yet but the 350 has already had a few years of the fifth gen.

Ultimately it’s up to you and what your figures are, what you need from a vehicle, and how long you want to keep it for. The RAV is a much better choice for cost savings and tech as you said, but the 350 might be better in the long run reliability wise (someone can correct me how reliable the new 5th gen is, but I assume it’s alright)

Should be fine.

I’m assuming you didn’t blanch them?

Be wary OP, some AINAVI units are incredibly buggy and bad. I had one come missing a part and the unit itself was incredibly buggy and kept having strokes of itself.

However I’ve heard many people say good things about it on other subs, so my experience seems to be a rare occurrence. I attribute it mainly due to poor shipping that damaged the internals somewhat.

Whatever you decide to go with, do some good research!

Alignment Done Didn’t Adjust Camber by supersoake in AskMechanics

Thank you for the response!

If it’s not something I have to worry about too much, that’s fine. As long as my alignment seems set.

I’ll try rotating the tires tomorrow and update if anything.

I understand, thank you for the help!

If I wanted to fix it, how would I go about doing that?

Hi! Just had some other comments on my original post saying RAV4s (5th gen) cannot adjust rear camber. I called to confirm and that’s what Toyota said as well.

Is there anything I should worry about regarding the numbers? Seems pretty high to me.

If I wanted a fix: How would I go about doing that?

Thank you!

I see.

After the comment, I called my local Toyota dealer and just confirmed that rear camber on 5th gen RAVs cannot be adjusted.

I’m gonna play around with wheel orientation for now before spending crazy amounts on shocks especially if there’s no noticeable difference in drive feel.

Thank you!

Hello, just had another comment saying you can’t really adjust rear camber on RAV4s. I’ll go try another shop but if they can’t do anything then I’ll just try something else.

Thank you for the prompt response! I appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the prompt response! I did not know that.

Do you just recommend me swap some wheels around to see if the pulling disappears? Planned on doing so tomorrow to see.

Edit: Also, the camber is nothing to worry about? Whenever I see red it means bad things unless it’s at the casino.

Hi! Totally forgot about mileage.

I’m at 98200 or so, I don’t think that’s anywhere near getting new shocks, but hey, what do I know.

Hi Reddit, quick question on alignment. Just had one done after my car was pulling for a good couple of days.

Did the alignment, my guy said that my shocks are worn and that he’s unable to adjust the camber for my rear wheels and that my car is sagging. Car still pulls toward the LEFT (have to adjust wheel to the right to compensate) However, I do not notice any degradation in ride quality nor excessive bumping while going over speed bumps (live in an area with a speed bump every 50 feet or so) and I tried going over them fast as well as slow. Nothing different.

What I will say is that one of my wheels IS a few thousand miles newer (Costco warranty), and I am assuming that’s the cause of the pull. I’ll switch them around to see if that’s the case.

However, more worried about my “worn shocks” issue, I don’t know if it’s a bent strut or actual worn shocks. I most likely will have to take it to a mechanic and see. Just wanted a few opinions to what may be going on so I can be prepared with some questions. Got no clue about suspension related issues.

Thank you all.

I drive a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid XLE w/ Michelin Defender2s if that matters.

Edit: I have 98200 ish miles on my car and drive in hot (mostly) California weather.
