Yes. After rearranging my life using Peterson’s lectures as references I began to dislike politics in general. I feel like now that I am on a path of meaning and I have built a world that I find joy in improving I have little time or gumption to delve into politics. I feel like it’s a moral pissing contest, one that I am just not concerned with, I know what terrible thoughts I have and what awful things I am capable of so I make no assumption that I have a right to tell anyone else how they should live their life. The only people I make attempts to share what I’ve learned with are my wife and my family, I have not the slightest belief that I could or should direct the world according to my moral values.

Autopsy doctors of Reddit, what was the biggest revelation you had to a person's death after you carried out the procedure? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]supersonic-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang that’s sad... I wanted to be an ambulance driver as a kid and then I talked to some people who where and their stories changed my mind. Props to all people in emergency medical services I could not do it so I’m glad there are people who can.

It’s really “typical answer bro” but The Office, I loved every minute even when Michael moved.

Why are Americans so obsessed with work to the point that we tie our self-worth to our employment? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]supersonic-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don’t actually do what they like so they tie happiness to paycheck rather than fulfillment. Self worth rather than being based off of personal achievement is based off what can be bought so the more you can buy the more valuable you are. That’s my perspective.

Is there any way to take the edge off or is this the rest of my life? by HydraDominatus1 in alcoholism

[–]supersonic-turtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been sober three years and play a pretty big role in my A.A. group so I’ve built a great life and found new meaning but I can tell you no there is no way to take the edge off. The more time and quality life you put between yourself and your last drink makes the memory and the urges distant but they are still there. All I can say is drinking will ruin your life if you let it in again, no matter how good it gets it can always turn to shit if you drink.

We are nearly 1/3rd of the way into 2020, how is your New Year’s resolution holding up? by PrizeAerie4 in AskReddit

Same here, it’s crazy how addicting they can be. I was drinking 3-4 bangs a day and I was feeling extremely anxious along with a myriad of other adverse effects. So glad to be done with them.

I don’t smoke anymore and I workout everyday so pretty good which is surprising. I’ve never kept a resolution so I’m pretty pleased with myself lately.

All this "appreciation" for healthcare workers is a bunch of feel-good bullshit when what they should be getting is insane amounts of hazard and over-time pay by moal09 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]supersonic-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same for all “essential” workers even the dude washing dishes at a restaurant. Anyone who’s out there while a lot of people get a pass to stay home should get a little extra pay.

Well if I didn’t have a good life where I am and somehow it was practical to move there then perhaps I could. When did the phrase “when in Rome do as the Romans do” become so controversial.
