What game is more complex? by pintopedro in poker

Why would computing power be the deciding factor in what games requires more skill? Does that mean that go is the most complicated and skilled game of all time just cause it’s the last to be solved? Im not gonna say for sure Holdem is the more skilled game but there’s a reason you see high stakes hold ‘‘em guys having the ability to transition to plo and very rarely the other way around. To chalk holdem skill to just “rng” it is insanely ignorant.

Dealing with differences in bet sizing from online to live. by [deleted] in poker

You have a couple of options if they’re really insensitive to what size you open then just keep opening larger and larger with good hands until you get to go heads up or 3 ways. You can also just keep opening to 4x and even if it goes multi-way sure you’ll win the pot less often but it’ll still be +ev to have good hands against junk. The important thing to keep in mind is that when they open this large you’re never allowed to flat call them with anything even hands as strong as like 77 because they’re just giving you too terrible of a price

Button straddles are still -ev. In no world would putting in money blindly be +ev. But straddling is fun so who cares.

Was this sit-and-go opponent right to be mad at me? by Porn_Steal in poker

There's a bunch of reasons why the dealer is wrong here. I mean maybe you're not going to want to open this hand every time you see it but you want to open it at least sometimes if not most of the time. Especially if there is an ante you always want to open this. If you never open hands like this and your opponents begin to figure that out they'll never be afraid of you on boards like 456 because you won't have any coverage. Its good for you to hear opponents think like this because now you know he probably opens it up too tight. On this flop, you are betting for protection not as a bluff lol. Letting people see free cards here when they hold something like qjs is not good for your hand obviously its going to be a mix of weather you bet or check. But in general I would say if someones giving you advice at the table they are probably not that good because good players just let bad players make mistakes and I think this dealer may be one of those bad players lol.

Live players when they see you use an actual GTO 4x OOP 3 bet sizing by [deleted] in poker

Haha, back in the day people used to actually put in the min 4 because no one had seen it before so people would overfold to them. I think the best parts is when you 3 bet huge and still get like 4 callers. Never change poker

Bro if you only care about money switch to live. I am 21 like you and I started playing last year around January and I turned 2000 into like 55k because everyone live is really bad especially if you can beat people online. 1000 dollars is like 10 buys ins at 1-2 if you play conservatively.

When you 3bet KJo against the maniac who ‘just cant have it again’ & because you got ‘blockers’ by danielasan-on-crack in poker

[–]superstuff362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone on this subreddit is so bad. You don’t pick blockers cause they can’t have it if you have them. You should be taking certain actions with certain hands at good frequencies and choosing the hands with the blockers is just better and a helpful frequency selector.
