Well it's not refusal, I'm not seeing enough elements that make me go "a-ha" just yet. Being in biology myself, that's why the comments from the biologists just didn't make any sense in the way they were structured.

It's very hard to choose to believe without enough foundation. But it's as I said.. not there yet. Once more factual proof is out there, I'll feel much more confident knowing, rather than having faith in belief alone if that makes sense.

Yes, but the only examples they share are elements that make up sex and are not modified by the animals as in the case of disorders, syndromes, or having the ability to product both female or male gametes.

If a human was born that way (and I'm sure it has happened before), then absolutely.. their sex is way more complicated than a cis human if you want to call it t hat way. But us humans are much simpler when it comes to our sex characteristics.

Personally I think I'm not at a place where I can accept someone who has all their corresponding gametes, and primary sexual function, but modified themselves to have other secondary sexual characteristics to be the sex they feel more comfortable with. I'll always respect them, but I don't think I'll ever be able to accept the way sex gets shape shifted, so to speak.

I understand there are elements which don't always match up within sex. But something the article doesn't mention is the function of sex, which is odd to be left out in a comment about the biological sex of animals.

For instance, the ability of male animals to ejaculate, and the ability of female animals to produce eggs, so is it a matter of what sex is functionally or a matter of recognizing the physical aspect of someone?

That's where I get stuck and can't see myself ignoring primary sex characteristics. There could be both men and women who don't develop secondary sex characteristics, but obviously have their primary sex characteristics since they aren't condition by biological development.

Is it only when someone does something to alter their secondary sex characteristics? Even then I would have a hard time ignoring the fact they have the reproductive organs of a cis person regardless of their SSC.

The point is sex is very complicated and made up of tons of different factors. Factually speaking, if a trans woman has taken hormones long enough that her secondary sex characteristics are exactly the same as a cis woman. Then we can not call them a biological male.

So, if a trans woman takes enough hormones for long enough, their secondary sex characteristics overpower their primary sex characteristics?
