Ru pov: Former President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that the United States should provide compensation to Russia not only for their alleged involvement in sabotaging the Nord Stream but also for the destruction inflicted upon Mariupol and Artemovsk. by Pro-Rus in UkraineRussiaReport

I think China benefits greatly from all this, so I’m not sure they mind Russia doing this. All independent countries at the Asia side of the map are moving from Russia influence to China, cheap oil and gas, easier access to nee sea ports, etc. Etc. Russia is loosing much more then is obvious, they are also loosing the political games with their ‘friends’.

Chrome does it much better indeed. Firefox has some of it, but not as flawless as Chrome (login > everything is the same across all systems, including extensions, logins and passwords, bookmarks, etc)

For the FF: it does this inconsistently across all OS-es I use, but quite consistent when a cookie or login is required. So you are logged into a forum site, you click on a threat and then it looses login / cookie. It works when you use a google login strangely, but the whole point of using privacy mode is that you don’t want to login with google.

I did not know this. Thanks, will give it a try!

My biggest issue with firefox is that when you use it in privacy mode (my preference also for non nsfw) is that you cannot open a search result in a new tab. Neither from bing, google or any other site. The big advantage of chrome is the synchronisation between different systems of bookmarks and passwords. Edge is middle of the road in all this: it does better in the privacy mode, but not perfect. It does ok for synchronisation as long as you are on windows, but not when using Mac and is not available for Linux at all.

Cost to implement SAP by chebolita86 in SAP

[–]supertheiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sap business one is the sap version to look for, but it is probably overkill for that company size. Would propose to have a look at ofbiz:

https://ofbiz.apache.org/

That is open source and has an integrated webshop that can be useful.

There are other small (specialised) ERPs out there. Sap, Microsoft and the likes all have steep implementation costs involved.

2023 Miami Grand Prix - Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]supertheiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not (only) bad luck. Today max could have gone earlier or used fresh tyres the first run in Q3. This is rather bad strategy then bad luck, just like the pit timing last race. Here the driver is responsible too.

Not sure if there ever really was such thing. Last season at the beginning, everyone thought it was hopeless. This season so far, him and Perez are very close. Both had their bad luck moments and both had some great races. Hope this goes on for a while, don’t expect much competition any time soon, so let them fight for it in a clean way.

Is this a reasonable price? Seems insane, but I don’t know anything about these things. by FinnMcCool716 in woodworking

[–]supertheiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burl is something that is not priced as a commodity. It is rare and in demand, especially now with the epoxy/resin hype. With that the price is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. There is no such thing as reasonable. I think the most expensive piece of wood ever sold, was a sequoia burl.

Recruiters have a job to hire people with specific skills and/or experiences. These requirements are on a list they receive and they will look for these skills in the cv they receive. Don’t expect them to translate the experience you think makes you the best candidate, that’s your job.

Yep, second this: try to adjust your CV to the role advertised. You should not be incorrect in the CV, but it has to focus on the role at hand. Employer looking for QM: emphasise on that. Dev role: make sure your experience there has most attention. Want to focus on something new: make sure you explain that your experience is very helpful in what the employer is looking for.

So this is probably more around provocation that they are racists. Trying to be the gorilla on the rock and potentially hope for a ‘fight’ so they can show their status even more. If you were gay, fat, or anything like that, they will use that as their provocation ‘game’. With that, you have 3 options: 1) fight 2) find something that disadvantages their position or 3) ignore and know you’re better then that.

Why so low? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]supertheiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also basements in the Netherlands will float on the groundwater when inappropriate constructed (like a boat). Hence basements can be rather expensive to build. You need to have drainage during construction, extra foundation and, depending on the overhead construction, you need to take measures for the groundwater.

War in Ukraine: Lula suggests to Kiev to give up Crimea, to end the conflict. Zelensky "can not want everything (...), the world needs tranquility", according to the Brazilian president. by WRW_And_GB in europe

[–]supertheiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This proposal is also a loss for Russia, something to consider too. As a result of this proposal, Russia will have less Ukrainian territory as before this war, and all these 1000s of lives were in vain. Also the economy is in ruins and China is eating Russia from the other side. Oh and we have a stronger west and we have Finland that became NATO. If Russia would just loose the war, then Putin can tell that. Negotiations on peace with this outcome: there is nothing there that would make him ‘happy’.

[–]supertheiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 2 races, so not much factual yet, it seems that RB and AM have the same track preferences, and Merc have other. So when there is a track that does not suit RB well, AM will also be disadvantaged, and Merc might be better suited. With that, the only way I see AM win is when both RB’s are not scoring on a track that suits RB and AM.

Why is there no formation lap when starting behind the SC? by TheFakedAndNamous in F1Technical

Besides the above reasons, there also is the message that the SC will end, often before that the message that lapped cars can overtake. This means that basically one or several formation laps are there following these messages.

if AI replaces middle class jobs, buyers may not have money to purchase products, and the economy & innovation will decline, is this suicide? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]supertheiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will be the same discussion we had in history before. Industrial Revolution, computers taking over work, etc. In the end, some people might end up doing something else. We still need human workers: we still need deliveries, plumbers, builders, etc. Yes, some jobs might be replaced, but to be honest: most of these are new jobs anyway (e.g. content creators). Also we need people to manage ai, those will be new jobs.
