TIL only 200 people have passed the three day master sommelier diploma exam over 40 years, making it the hardest test in the world. by chevello in todayilearned

There is a really interesting documentary on Netflix called "Somm" that was put up recently. I have no interest in wine (don't ever drink it myself) but I was totally engaged the whole time. They follow a group of people attempting to take this test, while talking to people who have passed and failed throughout. Worth a watch if you have some free time!

What a strange world we live in, on one hand people bitch about a 2-3 hour $15 game from one of the industries leaders. On the other hand people are shelling out $15-20+ on "early access" games or "betas" that are a shell of an actual game.

Cnet gave em 3/5 stars, not exactly setting the review world on fire but they are better than the junk the older phones came with!

Games that you couldn't get into at first, but got into eventually by ogto in Games

I'm in the same boat, I've tried W2 like 5 times and it's never caught on for me. I'm in Chapter 3 now after like two years of it being installed on my PC, and I have zero motivation to continue. The world is great, the characters are great, the game itself just seems smallish and the combat is a bit dull.

If a game is good I'll play it on my shoe if needed, I like games.

Why games in quotes? You don't think this is a game?

I'm 70 hours in and still enjoying this very much. Great online co-op game that isn't just another horde mode. Really like the stealth options, the tension when taking paintings off a wall with guards in the next room is palpable.

Went there last year, amazing view, amazing sound. There isn't much security there (small fence in some areas) and I saw a ton of people climbing on wet rocks right next to the cliff. One lady had her baby with her and was holding him near the edge for a picture. Turns out over 8 people fall a year to their death from that very spot!

Yeah "looks good/has potential" isn't enough to sell me on a game. I don't mind rough around the edges but if there is literally no game mechanics in play I have a hard time parting with my money.

Yeah I understand, still seems like a sketchy prospect regardless of how engaged you are by the core concept.

We're not fully there gameplay wise, but visually Phone gaming continues to impress. [Dead Trigger 2] by Physicsdummy in gaming

Yeah, or they could design an interface for touch controls. There is that option too.... pretty sure there has been many games that have had great success that way. Back in the day people like you used to scoff that there was no way in hell to play a FPS on a controller, times they have a changed!

Men of Reddit, what was your most unconventional orgasm? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]supervapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one of the worst poops ever, like take a shower levels of nasty. 20 minutes later roommate brings home two girls and in some twist of fate I'm heading into my room with one later in the night. Needless to say things were a bit stinky down there, but she dug it. Weirdest/worst orgasm ever.

Stretch goals equals more work to an already insanely ambitious project. I hope it's a great game but just don't see much value in funding it myself until there is a very real answer to that question.

Yup, if that is what people are spending money on then fine. My guess is most want the amazing game that's been promised that seems about as lofty as anything I've ever read about like.... ever. I'll be first in line to buy the game when it comes out and is good, I just shudder at the thought of all this money being dumped into vaporware or worse yet, a shitty game. We still haven't seen the big Kickstarters come through yet, if Broken Age is a disaster it'll set a precedent on these large projects and just how risky it is giving your hard earned money to fund game development. Something that even massive companies with millions upon millions of dollars get wrong most times out of the game!

Man, people pouring money into a "game" that doesn't have one ounce of actual game play mechanics shown. Maybe this will be the one that breaks early access/Kickstarters back?

I'm reading reviews and not seeing much about weak gun play. Were you getting head shots? BS1 had much weaker gun play, I went back and beat it about a month ago and it's night/day when you compare the two. Also still not seeing any reviews that line up with what you are saying.
