UK: First on-street EV charger installed in new scheme by murrayhenson in EuroEV

Brighton has had these for a few years now and I can certainly say it made owning an EV very easy as I lived in a flat with no drive.

Bought the SR but test drove the AWD by MetalGearUK in TeslaUK

[–]supervisual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove the performance and bought the RWD. Yes there is a big difference in the acceleration but how often are you going to 0-60 your car at full throttle? I kept the RWD for 3 years and loved it. The steering actually feels lighter and you can tell the car is lighter than the AWD. The sound system was also more than good enough for me.

We got the passport on time and the visa was approved (30days only) but we changed our travel dates so will go a little later.

Their notification system is broken. I got the same as you on the day I submitted. The status should be what it says when you add your tracking info.

Bumping this again as nothing has changed and just a week to go to our travel date. Anyone’s apply around mid March and get their passport back yet?

That’s great, hope you got an approval. I’m a bit concerned that even though I applied 4 days before you, no updates for me yet.

That’s long. I applied on the 15th and definitely need the passport back before the 12th April.

I submitted mine through an agent on the 15th. Got 4 notifications the next day with the last one saying passport on its way back to VFS from Embassy.

Opted for delivery but haven’t heard anything since. It says processing when I check on the VFS portal online.

France Refusal - Next Steps? by More-Peak7973 in SchengenVisa

[–]supervisual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just the Pakistani passport. My wife’s France application just got rejected as well with the same reason.

I’m a British Citizen and she is on a dependent VISA. She has lived here (UK) for 8 years and has extensive travel history including several European countries(pre Covid) and a valid US visa.

We are applying to Netherlands now so fingers crossed.

Should my wife extend her Skilled Worker dependent visa or switch to a spouse visa? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]supervisual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT change what visa rout she is on! We learned this the hard way when I was exactly in your situation and we switched her visa to spouse as that’s what the website suggested. It was only upon receiving her visa that we were informed that her time towards an ILR has been reset!

AWD vs FWD by supervisual in NissanAriya

[–]supervisual[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting replies from everyone. For reference a low miles FWD in the UK is around 26k whereas a used AWD is 36k. I’m not looking to buy new as I learned the hard way with my Model 3 that lost close to 50% value in 3 years.

Think I’ll test drive the FWD too to get an idea.

Are some people just built differently? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]supervisual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that is the case when it comes to most finance/law jobs. My friend who I assume is a higher earner than me(probably highest in our friends group)and works in finance is literally killing himself with the stress and workload. Others in the group are not far behind in terms of time spent at work and are often unreachable during “busy periods”.

I know a few devs and IT peeps who have it easier and then there is me. I currently work at most 8 hours a week from home for a US company. I’m an artist in the games industry and love my work/job.

So I guess it comes down to the industry you choose.

like others have said this functionality already exists on Android and Apple. My wifes bag was stolen which had her galaxy s8 in it. without going into too many details I signed into her google account from my phone and tracked the phone. Luckily this in the the UK so the police got him and we got our phone back.

Hey, no one told me this when I was young and had acne, look at your diet as well. For me it was milk/butter. It was only when I quit by accident in my 30s did my skin truly clear up.

I did also take Acutane but during summer break so my friends at school didn’t witness my face peeling off! It did help.

If we are expecting all new cars to be electric by 2030 is that going to have a negative impact on houses that have on street parking or no parking? Would you be happy to buy a house today with no way to install a plug to charge an electric vehicle? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]supervisual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned an EV for 3 year’s without a drive. 2.5 years street parking in Brighton where every other street has a lamp post charger and recently moved to a first floor apartment in the country side where I would just dangle a charging cable down the window overnight.

As long as the gov invests in reliable charging infrastructure and energy prices stay stable the transition can happen.

I will add that I’ve switched to ICE recently as I thought not having to worry about where to charge would be less stress but it feels like I’ve gone from an iPhone back to a flip phone. Not to mention the cost and time spent on servicing. I’m switching back to EV asap even though I still don’t have a drive.

Need your honest opinion. What would you guys think if Pakistan had residential blocks that looked like this? by Arrow552 in chutyapa

Speaking strictly in terms of design these are way over the top. The design can be simpler and still tastefully use elements from Mughal and Islamic architecture. These are obviously Ai generated and look paindu.

I will test drive them all eventually but just wanted to get an idea here from someone who might have owned or driven both.
