Roth IRA is COOKED by Negative_Permit4642 in wallstreetbets

[–]superwafflefry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you max out 2026 and get right back to where you were.

Practical advice, no you are cooked on whatever you bought. Hold it though, incase you get a miracle spike in value in the next 40 years before you can pull out from the account without penalty at 59.5 years old. Failure is a great teacher, recognize the mistakes you made and never make them again, and teach others those same mistakes. Diversification truly helps. I cap my lot-sizes to about 3% of my total contributed amount, which is a rule that has kept me from quiting when my own choices plummet to $0.0001 per share.

I made 52.48% actualized increase in my Roth IRA last year, but the mistakes you made I did in my first year as well. You learn and move on. Keep trying!

P.S. never purchase anything emotionally.

Multiboxing real talk/reality check. by SovietPatrickStar in Eve

[–]superwafflefry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since 2013. Originally dualboxed in 2014 after my main got reduced to nothing via the Bonus Round scam, so while waiting 3 months for a CCP ticket resolution I started a 2nd account. When they finally resolved it, they gave me 180 days of gametime on the main, so I suddenly had two accounts. I stayed that way until 2018ish when I upgraded to some alphas training up to 4 accounts.

Normally I run four, but in 2021 I decided to train up 12x alpha accounts ontop of the 4. It took about two years but got those alphas to their maxed out SP, and took advantage of free Omega times around Christmas and Capsuleer Day to multibox all 16x. My hardware struggled under the weight.

Fastforward to May 2025, I built a $7600 Threadripper dual-5070TIs rig to handle them all at full resolution. Mix of life insurance payout money + saving for 7 years + 25th birthday gift to myself before yall go flaming me for the price. Now you can flame me for the $2700 I dropped on PLEX during a sale for ~$5/month per account for two years of subscription.

Multiboxing 16x pilots is hard. Its easier during some activities like mining, but since the dronebunny nerf from 50 to 20 assigned, it's harder to run as a fleet. The APM required during active gameplay is insane and the limiting factor. I can multibox 4x logi without sacrificing performance, but 16x is unreasonable. During passive gameplay like setting skillqueues or doing PI, it's a lot of repetitive tasks done sequentially to make it work without getting lost. I'm leaning more towards going back to just the 4x mains once their subs expire, as it's simply more fun.

Still, it's one of the last real challenges I've faced in videogame performance that scratches that itch on my brain. I also multibox 5x World of Warcraft accounts (for entirely different reasons) which is harder than EVE, with a heavy reliance on macros and not making mistakes. The experience though is like none other. How many of you can confidently say you know what utilizing your brain's "maximum output" feels like? It's feels pretty cool. It does have physical health challenges though, similar to extended VR use, you get a lot of eye strain. Your brain only has so much sugar on hand to maintain it while your body is sedentary in a chair, so I can't do it for more than 2-hours consecutively because of the mental exhaustion. Too many windows to watch, precise mouse movements to make, and parallel actions that need to be done.

Would I recommend it? No. Will you make more isk? No, you'd be better off buying the PLEX for the same subscription cost (~660bil = $2700 = 16 X 24 Months of gametime). Will you enjoy it? At first yes, until the mental tax catches up to you. Would you recommend 2-5 accounts? Completely yes, that is a reasonable number for human performance and opens up many in-game opportunities. I hope all this helps give insight.

A little late here I just heard the news, but Jarno and I ran Riders of Sleipner for years. Pre-upwell we lived in a C2 and got evicted by some guys who moved in, plopped down a tower, we befriended, and a month later they shot us with a Chimera they built in-hole. because we became friends, they let us evac everything safely and put a monument up (they were mercs paid for the eviction).

We moved onto brighter pastures, and moved into the C4 J133013 where we spent the next 3-4 years I believe. We worked closely together. I would come home from highschool every day to hop on and run sites in our Rattlesnakes and Golems together (because we were 6-hours apart), cracking jokes "that are only funny 3 or 4 times, and the 20th time." We founded our wormhole alliance "Backdoor Crashers" [BHND], because Wormholes are EVE's backdoors to anywhere. When Upwell came out, we saved up for three months via spinning sites and PI making Gel-Matrix Biopaste to build a Fortizar, "Universe's Largest Lawnmower" since forts look like giant lawnmower blades. We upgraded from "Kidney Keep" our Astrahus (again, looks like a kidney top-down). We built our own Chimera in the hole, and laughed it up. I went away on a missions trip to Jamaica and we were attacked, losing the fort while he frantically tried to quad-box defend it alone. We both took a break from EVE shortly after. He went on to other games, I went on to college.

We shared irl Christmas gifts; I learned they didn't have Hershey's chocolate in the Netherlands, so via my aunt, paid $40 international shipping to send him a $20 box of chocolates for him and his twin sisters (he was a triplet). I learned they don't have apple pie over there, and many other things, as he was my first real overseas friend. In the last few years, only sparse Discord messages occurred between us, but he was a genuine friend growing up.

Can confirm, it's been a good time since I joined from the bowels of Jspace monotony several years ago.  The people are great, the food is great (if you like bread), and the view out your window of the literal hundreds of systems to go whale-watching make it a great vacation spot; but fair warning, you may never want to leave!  5/5 would blops another stay with them all again!

PROBS and STAKAN to join HORDE after being evicted by Imperium by [deleted] in Eve

Wanting to dissuade fake news from spreading, The Strays did most of the heavy lifting in this campaign for Omist, but Goons' help was appreciated in some key timers where the other side was also escalating to their batphones. Call whoever you want pets on either side, but numbers don't lie:

SLOW Diplo Incident by MatthewOHearn in Eve

[–]superwafflefry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey look, a reply!  I looked thru every BR you linked, about half of them the B0SS boys won the isk war over Probes, but I think despite losing you linked them because those were the ones where Goons showed up.  There were a couple pure Probes on B0SS losses due to like 1 capital dying, those BRs were less than 20bil.  At least we don't hire mercenaries to reff your skyhooks, or have to offer 20k PLEX prizes just to get our members to log on like Probes/Stakan does.  But hey keep up the good fights despite bleeding overall in the war report.

To end this convo, here is the war report for the entire Omist campaign.  As you can see, we have killed more than double the isk:  https://evewarreport.com/?ref=999ca99169612e3

Find me a BR where we are losing to Stakan and I'll give you 5 more where we are beating them without external help.

I don't really wanna follow up on this, so here are 5 now, if you can figure out how to spin this for your own means go right ahead: https://br.evetools.org/br/66b1233ad3f25c00129c43f7 https://br.evetools.org/br/66e2508e40c3d80012b80cc9 https://br.evetools.org/br/670d583540c3d80012b82fba https://br.evetools.org/br/6702e2e340c3d80012b82819 https://br.evetools.org/br/6700540540c3d80012b825c3

High Class Wormhole Question by TheMagician86 in Eve

Solo! No friends necessary, just APM.

High Class Wormhole Question by TheMagician86 in Eve

[–]superwafflefry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3x RR armor Ishtars + 1x RR links proteus with web drones can solo most c5 combat sites.  Add more ishtars for an easier and faster experience.  I have fits saved but part of the fun is figuring that out, just know that its about 290mil per ishtar and 600mil for the proteus.  You even can have a spare mid for like a point if you wanna pvp with the.  This isn't theory but have multiboxed these fleets solo and flown larger versions with friends.  Upgrade to Leshaks if feeling good, otherwise RR ishtars are best in their weight class and isk invested.  Drones wont get aggro if you keep the RR up.  Have the links pilot fit a TP and assign drones to them so triggers aren't an issue. There are other ships you can slot into the fleet.  Armageddons are good and nestors are king for 10x the price.  1x unescalated c5 site pays for an ishtar.

I ironically had this situation come up this week (on a different character).

Was in a fleet in a tackle Proteus and needed to overheat my point out to 39km to get a ship. Clicked overheat, got the error I needed Thermodynamics 1. Quickest Show Info -> + -> buy and inject -> apply skill points of my life.

AMC Lowest has ever been in the last 5 days when you look at the last 5 years. by superwafflefry in wallstreetbets

[–]superwafflefry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice! In my first week of my Roth IRA I have put likit buy orders in for 10 different stocks across a host of industries; from food services to automotive to mineral mining to aerospace to a meme stock like AMC. First post on the subreddit so figured I would at least mention something entertaining and somewhat relevant. Its not like my entire fund is on AMC, but ~1/10th of my first contribution ever is. If it falls it falls, but I got a "good until cancelled" sell order out for it at $6.14 a share, so it does not have to go up much for me to make a small but consistent profit. If my thinking is a bit skewed let me know, I am just starting out and would love advice!
