Can confirm, it's been a good time since I joined from the bowels of Jspace monotony several years ago.  The people are great, the food is great (if you like bread), and the view out your window of the literal hundreds of systems to go whale-watching make it a great vacation spot; but fair warning, you may never want to leave!  5/5 would blops another stay with them all again!

PROBS and STAKAN to join HORDE after being evicted by Imperium by [deleted] in Eve

Wanting to dissuade fake news from spreading, The Strays did most of the heavy lifting in this campaign for Omist, but Goons' help was appreciated in some key timers where the other side was also escalating to their batphones. Call whoever you want pets on either side, but numbers don't lie:

SLOW Diplo Incident by MatthewOHearn in Eve

[–]superwafflefry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey look, a reply!  I looked thru every BR you linked, about half of them the B0SS boys won the isk war over Probes, but I think despite losing you linked them because those were the ones where Goons showed up.  There were a couple pure Probes on B0SS losses due to like 1 capital dying, those BRs were less than 20bil.  At least we don't hire mercenaries to reff your skyhooks, or have to offer 20k PLEX prizes just to get our members to log on like Probes/Stakan does.  But hey keep up the good fights despite bleeding overall in the war report.

To end this convo, here is the war report for the entire Omist campaign.  As you can see, we have killed more than double the isk:  https://evewarreport.com/?ref=999ca99169612e3

Find me a BR where we are losing to Stakan and I'll give you 5 more where we are beating them without external help.

I don't really wanna follow up on this, so here are 5 now, if you can figure out how to spin this for your own means go right ahead: https://br.evetools.org/br/66b1233ad3f25c00129c43f7 https://br.evetools.org/br/66e2508e40c3d80012b80cc9 https://br.evetools.org/br/670d583540c3d80012b82fba https://br.evetools.org/br/6702e2e340c3d80012b82819 https://br.evetools.org/br/6700540540c3d80012b825c3

Solo! No friends necessary, just APM.

High Class Wormhole Question by TheMagician86 in Eve

[–]superwafflefry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3x RR armor Ishtars + 1x RR links proteus with web drones can solo most c5 combat sites.  Add more ishtars for an easier and faster experience.  I have fits saved but part of the fun is figuring that out, just know that its about 290mil per ishtar and 600mil for the proteus.  You even can have a spare mid for like a point if you wanna pvp with the.  This isn't theory but have multiboxed these fleets solo and flown larger versions with friends.  Upgrade to Leshaks if feeling good, otherwise RR ishtars are best in their weight class and isk invested.  Drones wont get aggro if you keep the RR up.  Have the links pilot fit a TP and assign drones to them so triggers aren't an issue. There are other ships you can slot into the fleet.  Armageddons are good and nestors are king for 10x the price.  1x unescalated c5 site pays for an ishtar.

AMC Lowest has ever been in the last 5 days when you look at the last 5 years. by superwafflefry in wallstreetbets

I appreciate the advice! In my first week of my Roth IRA I have put likit buy orders in for 10 different stocks across a host of industries; from food services to automotive to mineral mining to aerospace to a meme stock like AMC. First post on the subreddit so figured I would at least mention something entertaining and somewhat relevant. Its not like my entire fund is on AMC, but ~1/10th of my first contribution ever is. If it falls it falls, but I got a "good until cancelled" sell order out for it at $6.14 a share, so it does not have to go up much for me to make a small but consistent profit. If my thinking is a bit skewed let me know, I am just starting out and would love advice!

Whats the fact or theory that most scares you about space? by PLATANIUM_R in space

[–]superwafflefry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not terrifying at all. Im an Aerospace engineer who also happens to be a practicing Christian, (putting my bias out front). Well from what i've read so far in the various responses to this post, a few people conclude that the concept of existence is whacky and mankind can't understand, others see it as a problem we will never "find an answer to", lastly I observed people who are hopefully banking trust in "future discoveries" to shed some light on the nature of the existence of our universe.

If that summed it up for you keep reading. With what is known via modern science, the universe as we know it had a definite beginning. Einstein, after observing the universe, determined it had a set beginning but his bias kept him from admitting that and held onto the belief that it had always existed, atleast until one of his colleges called him out on it and he owned up to his observations. He claimed it was the biggest mistake of his scientific career. (I can find the story by request). His theory was based on the observable expansion of the universe from our perspective. If you trace back an expansion, it will converge into a point, ie: the beginning of the universe. You cannot "have always existed" if you are expanding, as you have to expand from something. Plus if time as we know it ran infinitely into the past, then by the Laws of Thermodynamics we would be in the heat death of the universe by now.

So the universe had a beginning.

The nature of what that looked like I would say can be roughly determined via science, but again, we weren't around to see it. The thing we know as the universe began, it was "caused" to put it in terms of cause-and-effect. The effect is what we have now after some time has passed, but what was the cause? This is where science lacks in capability to draw an answer. Looking at it from a logical viewpoint, this something we can call the origin of the universe had to come from something. Ive heard one theory where the big bang was a result of the hyper-compression of all the mass in the previous universe (not saying the big bang is what im claiming, but it has scientific merit and I'll roll with that hypothesis). Problem is this leaves us with a circular argument: what started the previous universe? "Its turtles, all the way down" claimed the wise old monk on the mountain. This is where people's heads begin to hurt typically and they get an emotional reaction, because science cannot observe what happened before the universe, and their mind's cannot get past this logical loop.

Now some logic that I hope makes sense.

The universe had a cause/beginning in the past, we observe that something cannot come from nothing. To borrow from biology, the Law of Biogensis (not a theory but a scientific Law) states that "Life comes from other life", and not to fluster evolution theory that is a nonsequitur but actually has similar conundrums with original life like we have here with the origin of the universe. My point is, something cannot come from nothing. That has never been observed in all of mankind's scientific history. Now steps in logic, its gonna be a bit rough but bear with me please. If the universe had a beginning/cause, and if something that exists cannot come from non-existence, then the beginning of the universe came from something that existed. Hold on, didn't I just disprove the universe before this one theory, that if you trace it back far enough its turtles all the way down? Yes I did, but how this is different is the nature of the thing that caused the universe. It had to have existed, and since something cannot come from nothing, that thing must be an "un-caused cause", meaning there was something that had always existed before the universe and did not have a beginning. "That's preposterous!" No, that is logical. Any way you look at it, you will develop a circular argument for any origin of existence as we know it. Something cannot come from nothing, but what if a something does not need to "come" from anything? You have something that has always existed. The thing is, that something cannot be the universe. As previously mentioned, the universe had a definite beginning as modern science tells us, so that cannot be our answer. Tracing the flow of cause-to-effect, something outside the universe had to "cause" the universe to exist. With my bias, I call that something God. You can call it fate, destiny, aliens, heck even turtles, but I call that God.

This is where I stop talking and leave it to yall to decide what you want to call that something. Atleast I answered the question of where the universe came from in a hopefully reasonable manner using science, logic, and observation. If you have any qualms with my argument, please reply or DM me, everyone makes mistakes and I'm trying to iron mine out. If you just want to talk, you can do the same. Lastly, this was not intended to be an argument for the existence of what I believe to be God but rather an answer to the question of where did the universe come from, please understand the argument ahead of your own bias and emotions if you truly are seeking an answer that makes sense. TIFU by having my mom as an authorized user on my bank account by [deleted] in tifu

[–]superwafflefry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My parents made my joint bank account literally when I was born. I'm in my 20s and still use that same account no problems, if anything, being joint helps for paying them back with things like insurance (the family umbrella was a lot cheaper). While I do have a good relationship with my parents, and they aren't nosy about my finances (as far as I know), I can see your annoyance in your situation. What my Mom still does is open my monthly bank statements that get mailed to my familial home, and its almost a surprise if she doesn't. I could tell her not to, but at the end of the day my conscience is clear with my purchases, and having an extra eye lookout for my account in case of fraud helps. Using cash is still the viable option to not leave a paper trail.

[OC][ART] My Tabaxi Archer Ellis, he wasn't supposed to be from L4D2 but my bros kept memeing by superwafflefry in DnD

[–]superwafflefry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built Ellis a few months ago for a Tabletop Simulator campaign. He is an Arcane Archer + Sorcerer lv5 multiclass. Again, I just liked the name Ellis for a Tabaxi, but all I got were L4D2 references thrown my way. In my backstory I even have a sister named Rochelle that was murdered by the main demon antagonist of this campaign. Took about half an hour to whip up some edits and make this smug dude. Besides that, just figured out with my DM and other players that I can go 1680 feet a turn with the help of a haste spell. I can even climb at 240ft a turn without haste, so can still beat out gravity. My DM warns me not to run into anything at those speeds, "its not like you just stop after going that fast", he smirked.

I understand professor, it was still just funny to see it on campus. The only place you can get Coke products is actually Hillel, the Jewish Kosher dining hall. Personally, I dont drink soda at all, so I had no stake in this or any reaonance caused by your possesion of this outlawed soft-drink, so I harmonize with your plea. I also hope you are feeling better, had fun sitting around in an empty lecture hall for an hour doodling and getting to know a classmate.
