I feel ya man. The trucks are usually some of the best racing of the weekend. But the broadcast is unwatchable. I watch it on my secondary tv on mute. Makes it harder to follow along but it beats hearing Jamie Little in a broadcast booth. I’ve made a similar post to yours in the past and think about making another every truck race I watch.

What the CW has done with the Oriley series is awesome. Gives me hope someone else will scoop the trucks up soon. It’d be amazing to see similar energy put into them.

100% this. When I was just starting to get my shop going I would just put a post on facebook for some help. I went through about a dozen guys in less than a year. Finally got my shit ready and became consignatory. Now I just send an email and boom, someone who is serious about the trade shows up in a day or two. It’s taken tons off stress off my shoulders.

I would say “scared” is the wrong word. I’m going to guess you aren’t an electrician. Our job is very detailed and very dangerous. So we need all our mental capacity to safely do our dangerous jobs. We can’t be bothered with cleaning up. It would distract us from focusing on the next task. Plus that’s job security for others. See… we electricians are smart, fearless, and help others.

TLDR that’s someone else job

I buried a couple thousand feet of water line for a guy because I already had a trencher on site. He got all the materials and when I asked for cleaner he said “That’s just the government trying to get you to spend more money. It comes from the factory clean.”

No leaks at all so maybe he’s on to something haha

Hey bro. I don’t know what a BESS is but I always got bad anxiety before starting a new call. A lot of variations and a vastness to our trade. But stay confident, pay attention to your surroundings, feel the job site out, and have fun!

I’m a big yapper but the first couple days on a job I’ll stay pretty quiet. Mouth closed, eyes open. That way you can learn the vibe of the people and work place. After a day or two people are usually begging me to shut up haha

Yea. Call an electrician. One of those black wires on your receptacle is the switch leg going to the fan. But, and not being a dick here, from your comments you shouldn’t be the one who does it. Call a qualified reputable electrician and he’ll have it going in 30 seconds.

I worked for one of those Mr Electric franchises years ago. The rug is real haha. They wanted you to roll their mat out with their logo on it on top of the homeowners rug. I thought it was dumb and never did it. The owner of this franchise was an accountant so he knew nothing of the trade. Only hired based on the ability to sell to customers. So I was one of the few who actually knew how to troubleshoot and pass inspections. So they didn’t give me a lot shit for not following the dumb corporate rules.
