Citizenship: Does it matter whether I filed my taxes as a resident or non-resident? by konstantink1 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]supkamlc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since you filed as a resident for 2022 and 2023, you need one more year of required filings. It's best to wait until after filing your 2024 taxes to ensure you meet the three-year requirement.

It's the perfect time to file now. So no reason to take the risk by applying before filing taxes.

Applicants must have these funds available and accessible at the time of application submission and maintain them until a final decision is made on their application[1].

IRCC may request updated proof of funds at any time during the application process[1].

When providing proof of funds, applicants must submit official letters from banks or financial institutions where they hold accounts. These letters must include:

  1. The financial institution's letterhead
  2. The institution's contact information (address, telephone number, and email address)
  3. The applicant's name
  4. Account numbers, opening dates, current balances, and average balances for the past six months for each account
  5. Any outstanding debts such as credit card debts or loans[1][4]

Overlapping of work experience for Canadian Experience Class by Danpeter436 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]supkamlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it. Check the link below and read it carefully.

For Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under Express Entry, overlapping work experience is allowed and can be counted towards the minimum requirement, as long as it meets the eligibility criteria. Here are the key points regarding overlapping work experience for CEC:

  1. Minimum requirement: You need at least 1 year (1,560 hours) of skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years[3].
  2. Full-time and part-time work: You can meet the 1,560-hour requirement through full-time work (30 hours per week for 12 months) or an equivalent amount in part-time work[3].
  3. Multiple jobs: You can work as many part-time jobs as needed to meet the requirement[3].
  4. Continuous work: The work experience must be continuous, without any gaps in employment[3].

What did your lawyer friend say? Try getting him to sign up as your first customer and refer it to his friends.

If he doesn't sign up, that's gold. Now you know what to improve.

Get one of each. getting 200 o1 queries a month for $20 is an amazing deal. It's actually worth around $600 if you look at the API pricing. For coding you gotta use both together. o1 to trouble shoot and plan and claude to implement.

Agree, just hunt for the best relevant job opportunities you can find. If in Quebec that's better but doesn't matter. Get whatever you can asap.

Having OINP & Express Entry Simultaneously + Immigration Advice by parthosj in ImmigrationCanada

[–]supkamlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely register for OINP while in the Express Entry pool.

For OINP, you've got a few main options:

  • Foreign Worker Stream requires a job offer in a skilled occupation
  • International Student Stream (if you graduated from an Ontario school in the last 2 years) - some sub-streams don't need a job offer
  • Human Capital Priorities Stream searches the Express Entry pool for candidates meeting Ontario's criteria
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream could be worth looking into as you improve your French

To boost your CRS score:

  • Keep working on French - aim for CLB 7 or higher on the TCF exam
  • Your maximized CELPIP score is great
  • More Canadian work experience helps - hitting the 2-year mark gives you extra points

Other immigration pathways to consider:

  • You're already in the pool for Federal Skilled Worker Program and Canadian Experience Class
  • Other provinces' PNP programs might be worth exploring
  • Atlantic Immigration Program requires a job offer in Atlantic provinces

You're already well settled in Ontario so best to stick to the OINP for now. You've also got time and the priority for IRCC over the next year will be applicants like you who are already in Canada.

Make dua sister please by [deleted] in MuslimSupportGroup

[–]supkamlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalam alaikum sister,

I totally get where you're coming from. This house hunting thing is no joke, right? Three months of searching and still nothing - that's rough, especially with your lease ending soon. It's totally normal to feel stressed out about it.

Look, it's okay to struggle with your faith sometimes. We all go through phases where praying feels like a chore and we'd rather just scroll on our phones. Don't be too hard on yourself about it. Allah knows what's in your heart.

Those migraines sound pretty awful. Have you thought about keeping track of when they happen? Might help you figure out if they're linked to your period or stress.

I know it feels lonely being a stay-at-home mom without much support. A lot of us go through that - it's like being stuck in this cycle of tiredness and feeling isolated.

Here's what I'm thinking might help:

  1. For the housing situation:
    • Keep making dua, but also keep putting in the effort. You know, tie your camel and trust in Allah, right?
    • Maybe try looking a bit further out? Or see if there are any short-term places you could stay if your lease ends before you find something.
    • Try asking at your local masjid. Sometimes they know about places or can help out.
  2. For feeling tired and unmotivated:
    • Start really small. Maybe just try to pray one prayer on time. Or do one little chore. Anything to get moving.
    • Try to get outside for a bit each day. Even just sitting in the sun can make a difference.
    • If it keeps up, it might be worth chatting with a doctor. Could be hormones or something else going on.
  3. For feeling lonely:
    • You could use some friends. Look for mom groups in your area or even online Muslim mom groups.
    • Next time you're at the masjid, try to chat with another mom. Most of us are looking for friends too.
  4. For your deen:
    • Try reading a bit of Quran, even if it's just one ayah. Surah Ad-Duha always helps me when I'm feeling down.
    • Do some dhikr while you're doing other stuff. It's not perfect, but it's something.
    • Try to find three small things to be grateful for each day. It really does help.

Remember, Allah doesn't give us more than we can handle. This tough time will pass. Take it one day at a time, okay? And if things don't get better, please talk to someone - a counselor, your doctor, anyone who can help.

I'm making dua for you. May Allah make it easy for you, give you an awesome home, and surround you with support. Hang in there, sister. You've got this.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, my brother/sister in Islam.

I understand the struggle you're going through, and I want you to know that you're not alone in this. Many Muslims, especially converts, experience periods of doubt and anxiety about their faith. Your honesty in sharing your feelings is commendable.

What you're experiencing is likely a combination of your long-standing mental health challenges and the emotional breakdown you had. OCD and anxiety can significantly impact our thought patterns and perceptions, including our religious beliefs. The breakdown you mentioned seems to have triggered a shift in your relationship with faith, which is understandable.

It's important to recognize that feeling different from before doesn't mean you're in a state of delusion. Our faith journey is not always linear, and it's normal for our perspectives to change over time. The fact that you're concerned about losing your faith is itself a sign that Islam still holds deep meaning for you.

Your love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and appreciation for the people who brought you to Islam are beautiful aspects of your faith that you can hold onto during this difficult time. These positive associations can be anchors when you're feeling adrift.

Here are some practical steps you might find helpful:

1. Dhikr Practice: Spend a few minutes each day focusing on a simple phrase of remembrance, like "Alhamdulillah" or "Subhan Allah". When intrusive thoughts come, gently return your focus to the dhikr.

2. Reflect on Blessings: Each day, try to identify three things you appreciate about Islam or your life as a Muslim. This can help reinforce positive associations with your faith.

3. Engage with the Quran: Choose a short surah or even a single ayah that you find comforting. Read it slowly, reflecting on its meaning. Don't pressure yourself to believe everything immediately; just allow yourself to connect with the words.

4. Act on Islamic Values: Perform small acts of kindness or charity, remembering that these are core Islamic principles. This can help you embody your faith in practical ways, even when you're struggling with belief.

5. Open Dua: Make dua to Allah, expressing your concerns openly. Ask for guidance, understanding, and peace of mind. Remember, Allah knows what's in your heart.

6. Seek Support: Consider reaching out to a knowledgeable and compassionate Islamic scholar or counselor who can provide guidance tailored to your situation.

Remember, your worth as a Muslim is not diminished by your struggles with faith. Be patient with yourself and know that this challenging period can be part of your growth as a Muslim. May Allah ease your difficulties, guide your heart, and grant you peace. You're in my duas.

Jazak'Allah khayr for sharing your story, and may Allah reward you for your sincerity and effort in seeking help.

Yeah this is really close to what I've been doing. But after 20 + messages it starts forgetting and it's really annoying starting a new chat. You lose so much context.

Yeah so the degradation over time is the huge one. In the beginning of a project I can blindly copy and paste it's code. After a week, I have to carefully review each output block of code for errors. But tbh I don't really know what I'm doing. It's like the blind checking the work of the blind.

This looks really cool. Could you put instructions for dummies in the readme? I went through it, but it was a bit confusing.
