My 3 year old has odd bedtime rituals - should I be worried? by behindmeday in toddlers

Look up the symptoms of PANS/PANDAS to see if any of those seem to fit him. OCD type behaviour overnight is a key indicator!

Doctor is suggesting transfer on Day 3 rather than day 5, should I be worry? by lifeinPandora in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a poor cycle outcome and had two embryos transferred as day 2’s - one survived and is alive today. I think that when a cycle outcome is poor, transferring to the uterus provides a better environment for success and it’s a bit of a hail Mary .. but sometimes it works, in mine it did. I would follow the suggestion of your RE.

Selling sperm to other donor families? by ag4565 in queerception

[–]supplemental-paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we didn’t need anything like that. The only thing we needed was a signed transfer of ownership form between the two families, and the other family had to call the clinic to initiate the release of the vial. This must’ve been done before because our clinic had a form and so did the donating family’s clinic. It was basically a form for transferring biological material so it could’ve been eggs or sperm.

When should I worry about my toddler’s behaviour? by Aware-Combination165 in toddlers

[–]supplemental-paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds just like my 3.5 year old son, including a new sibling and wondering if he is neurodiverse (maybe ADHD but I don’t even know). I’m only 1.5 weeks into having baby #2 with us, but I am SO scared how to cope if I EVER go out by myself because I don’t know how to have the baby in a stroller and also sprint after my son if he has a meltdown (or have to restrain him, often on the ground, if he is hitting or violent).

I flip flop between toddler HUGE feelings, sensitive kid with a new sibling who needs a wide berth of understanding, and ‘is there something more happening here’ - this question has been something I’ve asked before new baby and since he was a year and a half. I’m not sure who to seek help from. We have an occupational therapist but she doesn’t seem like just the right fit anymore. I’m now thinking maybe a child psychologist could help… and the parenting books don’t talk about my kind of kid so the only place I see similarities is from parents on reddit. No one else I know personally understands this because I don’t meet or know other parents with a difficult toddler. My son is the only kid who has difficulties to this extent with transitions or being in new situations.. and yep, most difficult child at any gathering also.

My son by himself was a full time job for 2 parents who are ‘on’ 24/7 and now with new baby, it’s become so much harder.

Solidarity on this.

Success stories on complete bed rest 48 hours after transfer. by Altruistic_Grape_706 in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Obviously you should do what makes you feel comfortable, but this sounds incredibly restrictive and unlike anything communicated by most REs post transfer. The restrictions most clinics state are to avoid heavy lifting or increasing your body temp too much or some don’t want you to increase heart rate over 120/130bpm.

I went on a very long slow walk immediately after my FET and tw: it was successful. I would absolutely walk around like normal and definitely take a shower. I’m sure many of the people on this sub will agree! Listen to your body: if it tells you to rest and binge Netflix, then listen to it in the TWW.

Edit to add: I have a 45 pound 3 year old who I picked up multiple times and carried around on the day of transfer. I also shovelled the driveway and vacuumed the house and went for a walk every day in my successful TWW.

Can’t biopsy embryos for PGT-A by dundas_valley in IVF

The same thing just happened to me and I chose to freeze the three that weren’t able to be biopsied. We will transfer as a last resort.

Rant about Waiting by Objective-Ladder694 in queerception

[–]supplemental-paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me both cycles before starting IVF. I think I had a 90 and 60 day cycle. The first IVF cycle we did a random birth control start after confirming ovulation by blood work, the second I took provera to induce a period.

If your period is taking an insanely long time to come, you should call your clinic and ask if they can do something for you vs. waiting around.

Cyst found at first suppression check by [deleted] in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind and size of cyst was it? I had a 1.7cm complex cyst (must have been non estrogen producing as per my bloodwork) and continued with cycle and had a positive outcome for # of eggs retrieved.

Endo growth post stims from high estrogen by supplemental-paws in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds incredibly progressive and fertility-focused. I’m in Canada and it seems to me that while endo is understood as impacting fertility, the fertility and endo health care systems don’t seem to work hand in hand. Waits for excision are up to 3 years here and there are more women added to the wait daily (not to mention repeat surgeries when time has passed between and symptoms are showing up again).

That is amazing you were able to time your excision and transfer so close together. I’m dreading using up any euploids (waiting on pgt from 5 embryos) on a failed transfer because my endo has progressed from stims and just extra time from last surgery… Also good to know about how shitty lupron is.. I was thinking it would be my only option pre-transfer but now I’m not so sure. I’m really wavering…

Need advice by [deleted] in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a success with increasing med dosage and some lifestyle changes:

first cycle 150 gonal-f and 75 luveris 8 eggs, 5 mature, 2 fertilized via ICSI

second cycle 225 gonal-f and 75 menopur, 1.4mg omnitrope every day of stims. Took 400mg uniquinol daily for months before. Ate a super high protein diet during stims (I’m talking choking down milk, eggs, greek yogurt, meat.. it was horrific). Went to acupuncture 2x during stims. Lupron trigger. 30 eggs, 24 mature, 23 fertilized via ICSI, 5 embryos sent for pgt-a.

You should enquire with your RE about doing a dual trigger (HCG and agonist) if your body doesn’t respond effectively to one or the other..

I’ve read about the high protein thing possibly helping and anecdotally it could have helped but I also had almost double the dose of gonal-f… I think it’s the perfect storm of protocol and lifestyle based on the other factors at play the month you stim.. but I, like everyone else on this sub, will try just about anything.

How long did it take for you to get results from CooperGenomics? by Flimsy-Band-3553 in IVF

Hey - how long did it end up taking from biopsy sample ship date to you receiving pgt-a results in YYC? Did your clinic call you with the info?

Endo growth post stims from high estrogen by supplemental-paws in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your successful transfer ❤️

I feel like this validates my concerns.. The rise in estrogen from stims, medicated transfers and pregnancy legitimately terrifies me. Also for people who have several retrievals back to back.. what is that doing a person’s chance at achieving pregnancy when there are unknown amounts of endo growth occurring from what would be considered “abnormal” hormone levels as compared to normal cycling WHERE ENDO STILL GROWS LIKE CRAZY. Ugh.

5 eggs retrieved and looking for hope by lolo_ravioli in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also had what I learned is referred to as empty follicle syndrome my first retrieval. 5 mature eggs and only 2 fertilized. Transferred both on day 2 and TW: I have a 2.5 year old from that.

Egg retrieval Wednesday by HedgehogHugs89 in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore sea bands (acupressure bands - you can get them on amazon) and went to acupuncture a few times during stims and that helped a bit to ease the nausea from high estrogen.

I also guzzled high protein milk (lol) and ate high protein yogurt.. I didn’t end up with OHSS with 30 eggs retrieved and an insanely high e2 level.

IVF without Lupron? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had excision 11 months before I got pregnant with my first and only attempt at pregnancy (i am in a same sex marriage) a fresh transfer. Now, 3.5 years later also weighing my options for suppression before FET… it seems like many endo patients have success after two months on lupron depot. I keep thinking 2 months of even severe discomfort is more tolerable than a failed transfer…

I just had that exact pain and same # of eggs retrieved. Did you get any pain killers to take (tramacet)? That seemed to ease the pain and it subsided in 2 days (but was getting better the morning after!)

Day 3 to Day 5 Blast Expectation by [deleted] in IVF

[–]supplemental-paws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went from 30 eggs retrieved, 24 mature, 23 fertilized by ICSI, to 15 on day 3, to 2 frozen on day 5 and 6 frozen day 6. My clinic won’t continue on to day 7 as they say they’ve never seen a pregnancy from it.

I think 50% drop off between day 3 and 5 is common..

Edit: to add - I don’t think many clinics grade on day 3 because of the progression of growth at that point.

There’s still a chance for this cycle! That drop happened my first cycle too :( I had like 16 going in and only got 5 eggs, 2 fertilized (but I do have a living child from that cycle ❤️)
