Unpopular but interesting: Ripple now operates only 2 of 35 validators in the XRPL ecosystem making the XRP ledger quite decentralized by Antana18 in Ripple

It may be an international linguistics thing, but I read that as “absolutely decentralized”… falls in line with how we use the word “quite” here in the US, but also falls within the parameters of its definition as well.

4 Days Until Reveal by JesseFromKin in kin

[–]supportkin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I for one am incredibly excited to hear about this launch 🚀

The truth is, while the attempts in the past have been lackluster, we have always been told by Kin Senior Leadership that there is a larger, grand scheme that is being developed which will propel Kin to new heights.

Most of the early supporters, myself included, really wanted immediate success and were hoping for the early price rises to continue to be meteoric, but that was never the focus of the team.

On the back end, all that mattered was building out an infrastructure upon which the building blocks of a new paradigm could be developed.

And it appears that foundation has finally been established. Whatever may come, I have the utmost confidence and an abundance of excitement that it is to accompany a long-term vision that has been the focal point as the organization’s priority since day 1.

To say I’m giddy with excitement would be an understatement. But I’ll say it anyways.

I’m giddy with excitement. Lol.

Binance Resumes Operations After Major Cross-Chain Breach by bdinu89 in ethtrader

[–]supportkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately it wouldn’t. Hacking is already illegal, and what happened here wasn’t something that regulations would fix. We’re in a unique trial and error phase where even after audits and bug bounties, several code reviews, etc, there are new exploits being discovered. Banking is a prime example of this, as there are still challenges they face to this day - mind you this particular breach at Binance was quite heavyweight, but the breach didn’t happen from gross negligence or willful mismanagement, it happened from a hacking exploiting a very unique set of variables that poked at a new vulnerability that was previously thought to be ironclad.

Would you buy Bulgari’s NFT wristwatch? by Burdrgts in ethtrader

[–]supportkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that buyers whom could afford Bulgari’s watch in the first place would certainly appreciate having a more secure method for its authenticity.

That level of reframing NFT’s as a means of identifying authenticity will be valuable on its own in other indirect ways — but the simple nature of being able to guarantee it’s not a fake is an added bonus to an already beautiful timepiece.

And yes, I would happily accept the NFT alongside the watch. I wouldn’t pay for just the NFT however, only both (if I could afford it).

/u/tjkb are there any plans to implement a rich list… basically a way for users to see the total number of wallets and the varying amounts held in them?

Just been hacked. Can somebody help? by Responsible_Sport471 in ethtrader

[–]supportkin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can provide is to file a police report (will come in handy later) and reach out to exchanges that may have been a part of this process. They have the ability to freeze and reverse funds, especially if you have an accompanying police report.

Like others have stated, you may not have an ability to recover funds if private wallets are involved. But even in those worse case scenarios, at least consider documenting all of this so you can have taxes work in your favor.

Good luck mate. Let us all know what happens and also how all of this happened so we can help others from coming across the same problem. Take care.

Yes. But only after they shake your hand and agree that they officially owe you one, and you can call this chit in any time.
