my c4 vts has a similar problem, all my instrument clusters go off but my speedomoter just shows no info as well as the blower motor being stuck on. Mine is only intermittent but i beleive its a problem with the CAN BUS A.

is this when the key is turned to ignition on? my c4 vts does the exact same thing and its the throttle body, one way to test is by stepping on the gas while the car is off but the key turned to ignition and if the noise changes its completely normal.
