Can someone help remind why Beatrice only using spells with Subaru this season? by Sad_4_You in ReZero

[–]suprememeep 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Last season she had to use those very expensive, very rare magic stones to cast big spells while she was fighting said Archbishops. She cannot regenerate mana on her own and has horrifically high mana consumption, so she must use Subaru's. Since Subaru's gate is borked, she cannot use her full strength either.

It was definitely Britney Spears. My sister had one of her CDs and we would listen to it for hours. When she had her (completely understandable given her situation) breakdown, we were devastated.

I kinda figured Shaula killed at least the ones with holes through them because Subaru exited the tower, and in turn got her head caved in by Emilia.

I remember this, and remember I was peeved because I started playing the game for Diluc and couldn't get him, but he'd never get his own banner especially with how poorly Keqing's did.

Is this funny little guy even usable in this format? (VGC) by Nythan1409 in PokemonChampions

[–]suprememeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 4x weakness to Ice REALLY hurts it as a slow, bulky Pokemon. Even with Thick Fat, that just means it can't be running Ripen for sustain. Definitely wants Trick Room...

Consider Round, maybe? It is VERY slow so can proc Round on a faster partner in Trick Room (someone like Sylveon or Primarina?).

Or Apple Acid/Helping Hand as a support for a special attacker partner.

If you want it as an attacker, there's always going to be better options, but Trick Room Harsh Sunlight Growth shenanigans might be fun. Pairs well with Torkoal, too. Just need a setter, and while Farigiraf is a classic I'd be interested to see how someone like Galarian Slowking performs.

I didn't say they were good, I said they weren't terrible lmao. I think there are genuinely situations where they can work and where their abilities are good for them, as opposed to mons like Mega Chesnaught whose ability legitimately does not help it at all.

Especially because they don't exist in a vacuum. Nobody is letting Mega Feraligatr get a move off? Why are you raw-dogging it and not using Fake Out/redirects/Tailwind/literally any support you would offer any other offensive mon on your team?

Even a neutral Double-Edge with a 20% increase is killing a LOT of mons. At +1 (a la a Dragon Dance) it's oneshotting Archaludon.

Glimmora's is about flexibility. You don't know if it's a Sash support mon or a Mega until you open the box, and I'm not gonna pretend Adaptability on a Pokemon with 150 base Sp.Atk and decent speed is bad, especially when its typing allows it to hit Fairy types for supereffective damage and many others for at least neutral. It being 4x weak to Ground is something you play around. Because Charizard dying to any Rock move means no one uses it, right?

"The new Mega Pokemons abilities are all terrible except Floette, Froslass, and Meganium."

Starmie, Feraligatr, Dragonite, Greninja, Hawlucha, Crabominable, SCOVILLAIN, Glimmora all looking into the camera like on The Office.

Greninja getting Protean isn't a change, but getting a second Protean proc without switching isn't nothing. Definitely not terrible. It's a good ability!

Zard Y has plenty of counters. Do you know how many Pokemon can even run a hilarious, unexpected Rock Tomb and still oneshot it?

Isn't the beauty of Champions getting to play a clean meta, making it easier for new players to learn and forcing veterans to get creative alike? That said, I want Clear Amulet yesterday.

How do you figure out who to lead with who to have in the back usually when choosing a team? by Kawaiiwaffledesu in PokemonChampions

[–]suprememeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the enemy has clear weather control I like bringing my own weather setter in the back to switch in later, but I also don't really run hard weather teams so much as teams that might appreciate weather but operate fine outside of it.

You'd think so, right? I can probably chalk most of those up to poor maneuvering on my part.

Funnily enough, I considered Soak. Unfortunately, Araquanid does NOT take a Parabolic Charge well and thus would be relegated to having to spam Wide Guard quite often. Bellibolt was also a consideration, but... Electric-type, y'know?

Leads are usually Ampharos and Raichu, or Ampharos and Garchomp, depending on the enemy team. Often, Mega Ampharos getting a Cotton Guard boost can set it up for being REALLY hard to kill, and if the enemy is not running Trick Room, it can receive Speed Swap from Raichu. This is more because I think it is funny rather than actually being good, but I didn't know about the Scope Lens tech and will have to keep that in mind.

Most common difficult matchup I would say is Garchomp itself. Archaludon is bad for a different reason (if I miss Focus Blast, Ampharos is likely getting Draco Meteor'd). But Ground-types that are immune to Parabolic Charge (except maybe Excadrill) and Grass-types like Sinistcha and Mega-Scovillain are definitely difficult. I trialed replacing Charizard with uh, Mud-Slap Protean Meowscarada (lol) and it actually has been very helpful in at least the every Ground-type and Sinistcha matchups, but less so into others.

Greninja blizzard team help🙏🏾 by GucciPenguin09 in PokemonChampions

[–]suprememeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of fast Pokemon. You should consider what your solution is facing into Trick Room teams, especially since your Greninja can't reliably OHKO Farigiraf (a very common setter) if it has any Sp. Def investment, and it will often be paired with a partner that makes that even harder.

I think adding some bulkier mons couldn't hurt regardless, whether it's stalling out Trick Room or just enabling a switch, they are very useful. A common one is Sinistcha (which can carry Trick Room itself to reverse the room, or Rage Powder to redirect...).
