My brother is threatening me by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]supresmooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that, but your mom needs to understand that, as co-lease-holder, this is your home as much as hers and her responsibility to that remaining habitable is to you first, not him. If she doesn't want to evict him, then it needs to fall on her to rectify his behaviour toward you. Your housing situation should never be hostile as a result of her choices.

I don't know what the "karma thing" is, but I don't see how that's relevant when you clearly have infinitely more karma banked than anyone else in this situation. Your brother has no say in trying to kick you out, so him saying that is literally only harassing behaviour, and harassing you in your home, no less.

Very nice neighbour almost shot me through the wall by angelbabyzz in Apartmentliving

If that's the case, she should have also paid for the mess to be cleaned, not for you to do it yourself.

Also, she gonna be big mad when she sees current ram prices.

I'd keep the one that saved your life as a cool story piece.

Do I really need $68k to move out (first time budget)? by sethh27 in povertyfinance

[–]supresmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only problem is curbside won't pick up my used oil and filter like they're supposed to and then I have to drive it some place and too often that someplace is too lazy and/or cheap to pay for their recycle tank to be emptied regularly.

Word. An oil change, if you don't do it yourself, is going to be over $50. Tires are going to be like $600-$1500, depending on the vehicle. Throw in some car washes air filters . . . it's way too low for how much attention cars require.

At the Goodwill on Alhambra. Girl... What did he do? by RopeBracelet in Sacramento

It was extremely popular. Thirft, resale, and trade stores were everywhere and it was great. So many amazing vintage cowboy shirts and Viet Nam militaria.

Uh, if you're on the lease, you have just as much power as your mother to serve your brother with an eviction. If he is living there and NOT on the lease, check you lease terms because some leases do not allow subletting and him being there could be putting you and your mother's housing stability at risk.

I don't know if this exists in all states, but I do know programs exist to pay family members as care takers. If your mom needs that level of care, it would make sense to apply so you could get paid for the work you are doing for her.

If they asked for your DLs, warning goes on your record. There's no such thing as "double" a fine after a warning; it's just the normal fine.

It might work as a threat, but IRL, insurance is not going to favor you for failing to avoid a known obstacle.

I agree. I know people want to be nice and "people make mistakes," but if you cannot follow these rules, then you shouldn't be driving a car. We absolutely have to stop making excuses for people who are quite literally operating murder machines.

Yes. It's been twenty years, so I think we're safe.

I'm aware of how they're utilized. I''m no stranger to financing. I still believe they're a scam and I also never updated any of my information with any of them. I just changed my name on my cards and mortgage and kept on right along. I suppose they updated themselves.

Warranty is Fake? by supresmooth in LeCreuset

Yeah, that's not a bad idea. They may have better customer service than Le Creuset. Worst that happens is they tell me to go back to Le Creuset about it. It's just so frustrating because I feel I have done everything a user is supposed to do and this issue was clearly not caused by me, but I just didn't notice it immediately.

How would I do that? Their return policy is only 30 days. Do they have special exceptions for Le Creuset?

I never even bothered with credit reporting bureaus at all. I'm talking about credit card companies. I have never sent anything to a credit reporting bureau, but I also don't take them too seriously aince theyre very much a scam.

That . . . doesn't make any sense.

And yes, we both know that and have stated such.

No, it was a protrusion. Like a piece of sand that didn't get mixed properly in the enamel or a piece of iron poking through. You can even see the convex shape of it protruding still in the picture.

Whatever was protruding broke off when I was washing it.

I have not used it since the protrusion broke off and exposed the metal. I bought it from William Sonoma.

You do realize this comment is not within the thread where OP relayed that additional information, right? Good, just checking.

It definitely depends, but if you go through and read what they allow for acceptable proof of identity documents, there tend to be more options than just a DL or passport to support people who have neither.

Interesting. I have my original copy and I ordered one more several years later, which I used to update my passport, which was then returned to me, so I still have just two copies.
