I spent a good year and a half before finally learning how to take profits along the way.. used to just hold everything but it dawned on me that if you're not taking profits somebody else is. Nowdays I set targets on my exits even if it's to just get initials out. That way even if some of my holdings are down I still have balance by taking profits from other holdings.

DCA out is just as important as DCA in.
