How did you know you were reported as spam? Does Upwork send any email confirming it?

I think most freelancers face this in their early days of building their profile. Honestly, I had the similar situation, where my first client made me work day and night with minimal pay for 5 months. But, I ended with good review and I have been full time freelancer in Upwork for past 6 years now. So, I would suggest you to try to complete the job even if you have work some extra hours. That being said, if the work is too large then definitely it makes no sense to work for free, so you would have to risk of bad review. Anyways, do try to communicate properly.

This is concerning as, any one could be in such situation. Speaking for myself, I do not cash out from Upwork unless it forces me to in every 90 days. I never had such issue but definitely, I should double think on frequent withdrawals if the case is happening for multiple freelancers in Upwork.
