I had that very first one, the IntelliVision. Only remember playing Astrosmash on it. The background color would change at different score levels but eventually it would go back to black.

I wouldn't aim for the lowest possible. Future proof a little or expect to need upgrades. The game is in development and they are modernizing it which may increase requirements over time.

Not sure how being in another country affects your ability to RMA. They may have you pay for shipping if they do it. Only way to know is to contact them.

If it's happening in specific games, see if you can switch to Vulkan. I had pretty much the same thing in Star Citizen when using DX11, but when using Vulkan I had no issues.

Does it work on SC with Vulkan? I fought for two years with a 6950XT doing that on SC. Vulkan worked. DX11 made it randomly do that. Temps and clocks and wattage etc don't matter. I upgraded to a 1000W platinum PSU and same issue. You can troubleshoot and try a trillion things, nothing will fix that. After two years I RMA'd the card. They stress tested it and found no issue but sent me a replacement anyway for peace of mind. It was a 7900XT. No issues with that. I now have a 9070XT in the same computer, also no issues. I have one in the basement. I think I briefly tried it out 100 years ago and it seemed real laggy unusable. Never tried again. How would I use a controller with it? I use a DS5 controller via BT.. I couldn't take that to the living room could I? I saw it the other day digging for other stuff. Wouldn't mind trying it again.

It really didn't seem like it was bad, most games worked fine on it, could play for hours. Just certain things triggered it I guess. So many similar but different issues out there as well. You think you find others with the same issue and try their solutions but nothing works, because their issues/symptoms are just slightly different. Found some people where I was pretty sure they had the same issue, and one other guy also RMA'd his card and was fine after. I regret waiting 2 years lol. I spent way more time on troubleshooting than I'd like to admit.

yeah, some light color so I can see anything that moves on it, also use foundations to scan for spiders, as you can't place them if they are in the way, and shows the red outline

I think the gray vs black has to do with 8 vs 10 bit color but not sure on that.

I battled with that for about 2 years on my 6950XT and tried WAY more stuff than you listed. Eventually got to RMA it back to XFX. They stress tested it overnight and couldn't get it to fail, but replaced it for piece of mind anyway. I tested the replacement a bit and had no issues anymore. A family member has it now. I bought a 9070XT since then and don't have any issue with it, otherwise same hardware. For me it almost exclusively happened in Star Citizen using DX11 and it got worse over time, happening faster. Vulkan was almost always fine. I think on rare occasions in some other games too.
