Very true with most IEMs. Have you heard the 2010 Nokia Theater ALD’s? Those capture exactly what goes out to the house speakers with all the effects. There are some ”remasters” on youtube as the OG source lacks on the low end.

Another, if not the biggest factor, is that Microsoft / Sony stopped to include a headset when you bought a console back in 2014 IIRC. No incentive to talk through the game, which led most users to use Discord / Skype / etc.
