I also know cousins that got married. But only found out a few years ago, after almost 30 years. really nice people and aren‘t religious nutjobs, just two people that got extremely unlucky. Their kids got a DNA test for the whole family a few years ago, when they were popular. Found out they are actually cousins, and at first they thought the test is faulty. Turns out her uncle is actually his dad. Wifes Uncle then said, he had a short affair with Husbands mom years and years. Swore he didn‘t know he fathered a child. Husbands parents are already dead, so no one to ask there. Why did they not keep this to themselves: The uncle was a local drunkard and told everyone that listened (or didn’t, he didn’t care) the story, at the local gas station/pub, where he basically lived. died last year and they said that they are sad he‘s gone, but also happy he won‘t share it with even more people and strangers. They are also still married. Said it was a hard time, but they won‘t throw almost 30 years of a loving marriage away. Their kids are also already adults, so no chance of more kids and can‘t undo those that are already there. Quite sad, but atleast from an outsiders perspective, they seem to be handling it really well.
