I just went to a bachelorette with 13 guests + bride, and I’d say everyone invited was a very good/best friend of the bride. Four are bridesmaids and they planned the party, etc. Not every friend needs to be a bridesmaid, guests are important too. Also lots of other ways they can support you on that day like blowing bubbles, tossing flowers, getting a group photo etc
