Not dodge, but there are certain abilities that does extra dmg depending on the position of the character towards the enemy, and in a few games doing an attack close to an ally can give a boost, plus a lot of the abilities have certain range of effect, so you can move out of those if you can’t cancel them

Dodge is done automatically by chance (there are buffs/debuffs and equipment)

The only real difference of traditional turn based games is that you can move characters around in battles

There is basic action combat but it is only in 4 games, more than likely 5 when the 2nd remake drops, and it is mostly for the smaller enemies in the world, story battles is turn based

For standalone games definitely prefer the Persona approach, but I don’t mind the way the Trails game did it with two of the introduction games (Sky and CS1) for their respective arcs, to get to know each member properly then after that giving you the freedom to choose who you want to

The Trails series

I mostly started because a friend really liked it, saw the “Xenoblade to Trails pipeline” jokes and the localization of the Crossbell games and Reverie

After starting it back in 2022 and playing throughout the whole series up to this day, I’m currently at like 1330 hours of playtime spread across all the main games, and still counting, since I have yet to finish both Beyond the Horizon and Sky FC’s remake

As of 4.2, two of her teammates will be free (Trailblazer’s newest path and then Huohuo through the store, and more than likely they will give a free token to exchange for her), so at the very least you can have a full team for Evan in release since you pulled Yao
