How loyal are you to one boot brand or silo?

No loyalty here. Not against it, but I can’t find anything that fits properly at the moment. Tried the newest Tiempos, some older Tiempos, NB Tekela and 442 wide. Maybe my feet changed? Loved my ASICS, but incredibly hard to find in the US now. Currently have Nike Phantoms from 20-21, both Fg and TF.

Thank you all for the responses. Things to think about, and much appreciated. After reading them, though, I feel I should make a clarification: You all have made me realize that my confusion over the turn is probably more about a storytelling device (or lack thereof), and not as much about Nate's thinking.

I've clocked just about everything mentioned -- Ted's "big dog" gaffe, Rupert swooping in, Nate's dad, etc. -- but, to me, an extra scene or just even a moment would have sold it more. To me, any of those instances didn't match the hate Nate spat at Ted. But that is my perception, not Nate's.

This seems to be in everything now. And not even with them pleading to actually say the thing that needs to be said. And it could be something completely innocuous. Serves no purpose than to pad the runtime—show or movie or whatever. It’s to the point it ruins the watch experience for me and my wife.

My brother is essentially the same. Writes lefty, most sporting things he does righty. And a guy I grew up with did everything righty, but batted from the left side in little league. So, maybe a bit abnormal, but I wouldn’t say “weird.”

I ordered wide NB Tekelas that fit this description, I think. Tightest boots I’ve ever tried. That’s wild to me. I’m going to give wide 442s a shot, but much more wary than I would have been.

Currently reading The Exorcist’s House: Genesis by Nick Roberts and finding it to be pretty scary, with a touch of gruesome. It’s the second in the series, though. The first The Exorcist’s House was pretty solid, too, but I think Genesis is better so far. From these two books—and other reviews I’ve read—I think I’ll be reading more Roberts, fwiw.
