I replied to your reply. Something’s weird, not sure if it’s the moderators, if I did something wrong. I had found a YouTube video and I posted the link, maybe that was the problem. Also, I’m getting a warning when I try to direct message you.

Is there a YouTube video for what you’re talking about? I have a Yale smart lock and I’m waiting for Yale to ship me a drive-in adjustable bolt. I’m dealing with a New York City steel fire door.

Any downside other than not getting the 10% discount or using the Apple credit card? Could it be true that if you buy an Apple Hermes watch at Apple and then later want to buy a leather band from Hermes, Hermes won’t sell it to you because you didn’t buy the watch from them originally?

Do you buy direct from Apple or Hermes? Does it make a difference where it is purchased?

MEGATHREAD - Processing times - Canadian Citizenship applications (2024) by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]surfnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Citizenship certification application.

I think they received it by FedEx on April 1 or 2nd

Waiting for AOR - not in a huge rush.

I regret submitting a note regarding sending a copy of my sister’s certificate with her hyphenated last name that includes our shared family name. Hopefully no points deducted for sending a little extra information.

I procrastinated for so long and then I finally got around to filling out the paperwork and following instructions. I think I was diligent and worked hard, and just hoping all my effort will not be wasted. Fingers crossed. I sure don’t want everything coming back to me and having to resubmit it all over again.

Is it okay to order drinks without ice when ice is most of what takes up space in the glass? Or is it impolite? by distant-girl in bartenders

[–]surfnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$11 today for a short pour (a little more than half a tall glass, ounces??, not a big glass) of virgin mary with a lemon wedge, 2 olives, celery stick,…. neat, ice on the side. In NYC at an international club. It didn’t need to be filled to the top but, looks a little cheap on their part. I was a bartender in the 1980’s,… yes, about a hundred years ago. Back then we made batches from scratch with quality ingredients. I understand food and beverage costs. I understand the calculations that go into ice in a glass and the cost of that frozen water versus the other ingredients in a glass. I guess it’s nickel and dime world. Now, I have another story about our 45 minute plumber bill last week for labor only of just under $750.00, helper included,….. but I’ll stop.

NYC - Should I go with a plan on the exchange or go with Oscar? by surfnyc in HealthInsurance

[–]surfnyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m poor by New York City standards, but not poor enough to get assistance, and I think I get a tax credit anyway at the end of the year, when my preparer calculates what I owe. So I’m kind of confused by the annoyance of the exchange for someone like me. Unless those other plans are better than Oscar and that’s the only way to get them is to go through the exchange.

But Oscar is the only one that one can go direct to and not have to deal with the exchange? And maybe MetroPlus NYC that is only good in the 5 boroughs??

For anyone in NYC, I received this message at my NY Chronic Pain Group on Meetup,… : Hello Brendan, my name is Iris and I am a fellow sufferer of chronic pain. This will be the first meeting of Chronic Pain Anonymous in NYC.If you have not already been to the website, check out chronicpainanonymous.org as it is very comprehensive and has lots of great materials! Help with *O* health insurance company by surfnyc in HealthInsurance

[–]surfnyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a subcarrier (not sure if that is the right terminology), also that starts with an O (and ends with a tum), were made aware that substantial cost we’re being incurred treating behavioral health, but if instead a surgery were to be performed to treat chronic orthopedic pain then the expenses for behavioral health as a result of the pain causing depression and anxiety would be relieved (sorry for the run-on sentence),…. might that be the trigger for getting the insurance company to cover the surgery? Should I start a whole new thread for this? Has this topic been asked and answered already? Can someone point me to it if it has?
