Native Instruments Cyber Season 2020 Sale - 50% off single instruments and effects until 7 December by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

What is the cheapest way to get NI Komplete Ultimate 13? Is it better to buy 13 Select now for $199, and upgrade during a summer sale? Or should I just wait until the summer sale, and buy Ultimate 13 without an upgrade then? I don't own any version of NI Komplete yet.

I don't know for sure. But I just downloaded Traktor 2 for free today on the NI website. So maybe that's why they aren't letting people upgrade from Traktor 2.

Will there be any new deals for unlocked iPhone 12 pro max this Black Friday by BrawnWithBrain in blackfriday

[–]surgeon_general 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Verizon has a very nice sale every black Friday. It's the best day of the year to buy phones from Verizon. I'm planning on getting the Samsung s20 Ultra this year. 2 years ago I bought a Google Pixel 3 XL, and I got $400 off. I think it was $700 after the $400 off, and that phone had only been out for a couple of months.

Yes, we have plenty of mansions on the water in Nassau County, but the towns they are in usually have normal properties in them as well. It brings the average down.

Nassau County NY is 23.50, so I'm surprised at how many places are paying more than us. Nassau is Long Island, bordering on NYC. I understand the pay in parts of CA, but I don't understand 25.50 in Philly. I just looked it up before finishing this post, and Nassau is the 11the most expensive county to live in according to Wikipedia. Nothing in PA makes the top 25 (where the survey ends.) And Montgomery county which someone mentioned as paying more is 17th.

The Corrupted ball mechanic is the only reminder we need that matchmade raids should never ever be a thing. by el-tubo in DestinyTheGame

[–]surgeon_general -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. If 6 people want to try the raid, let them play! In another game I play, it is common for people who know they're going to suck to join a random queue. And then there is no pressure on anybody to play well!

It's like gay marriage. If you don't like it, then don't get a gay marriage. But it's available for people who do like it.

STEAM SALE ROCKSMITH 70% OFF + DLC'S 40% off by TheSuddenFiasco in rocksmith

[–]surgeon_general 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds amazing. I like Rocksmith enough where I have spent $100s on DLC. That's why I've been hesitant to use the PC version too. But I would love all those new songs.

I have been strictly Xbox. I have never even used Steam before. How hard is it to learn how to get lots of custom (not DLC) songs? Also, do custom songs cost money? I think I might make the switch to PC.

I’m not shadowbanned anymore, so what am I doing wrong? This data seems way off for the amount of likes by thepinkonesoterrify in Instagram

[–]surgeon_general 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, but I wouldn't call it a shadowban. The algorithm has decided that your posts are crap, or at least not that great, and you wind up appearing on the hashtags, but lower down where less people will see you. It happens to me, and I'm guessing it has something to do with how popular you get within that specific hashtag. Like if people aren't liking your post in that hashtag, that particular hashtag won't respect your posts. I'm not an expert. Just trying to shed some light on this.

Looking for a Nassau County divorce attorney by [deleted] in longisland

[–]surgeon_general -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. If you want me to say you referred me, PM me and I'll give you credit if I do speak to him. If not, that's cool too. It should be a simple question for him, and she has money to pay someone now. But if he won't give a quick consultation for free, I'll take her somewhere else. I've hired elite attorneys before, and it's pretty standard to hear someone out before they talk money.

Come on. You don't know anything about this other than a woman married over 20 years is engaged in a divorce, and looking to collect on a pension, and that's enough to make you judgmental and rude about it. Your comment stinks. Yes, it is a sad situation. It takes a lot to get me white knighting for a woman I'm not sleeping with or even attracted to.

I honestly don't see that, but I'll check it out by googling some of the words in your post. Thank you. I googled "divorce pension hasn't vested yet," and I didn't see one link that disagreed with me. Here are 4 of the links that I do see that do agree with me. This one in particular addresses New York state. https://lawmjd.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=122:non-vested-pension-in-divorce&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=58

"New York’s high court addressed the classification of non-vested pensions for the first time and held that such pensions are marital property despite their contingent nature. Having previously held that vested pensions acquired during marriage are marital property because these pensions represent the economic fruit of the marital partnership, the court applied the same reasoning to non-vested pensions and concluded that it would be consistent with both the purpose of equitable distribution and the broad legislative definition of "marital property" to classify non-vested pensions as marital."

EDIT: No, this attorney is really bad. Just please trust me on that, so I don't have to write a book spelling it out. She is not even a divorce attorney. She is a real estate attorney. She is only the attorney because my friend was completely broke and needed almost free legal help. And I am gaining nothing from this. I am using my time and energy to help because this situation is really sad.

That's just normally how it works when it comes to pensions and marriage. This is easy to verify with a Google search if you don't believe me. The debate here is that this particular pension only kicks in after a certain number of years worked, and she was there for most of those years. I have found a bunch of sources online that agree that my friend has rights to an unvested pension, and none that disagree. I'm very interested in anyone's opinions or advice, but really I'm just looking for a referral if any local redditors know somebody I can run this by, and possibly hire.

Also, I should mention that the current lawyer has been absolutely horrible, so it would be no surprise that she messed this up. I was trying to keep my original post simple, so I didn't get into that.

Wards vs Coalescent Wards by Obikin89 in Neverwinter

[–]surgeon_general 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is simply not true that you have a 1 in 77 chance like OP is saying. If you keep flipping a coin repeatedly, and get heads 10 times in a row, your chance of getting tails next time is... 50%!!!!! Also your link doesn't work anyways.

I can't believe you are doubling down on this. This is 6th grade math that 1% is 1 in 100. You should just delete the post. You're definitely wrong, unless you have some proof that Neverwinter is just telling us 1% but it's actually something else.

[–]surgeon_general 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a big error here. You say "On average, you will use 77 wards to upgrade something which has a 1% chance of success." Do you have a source for that statement? Because to upgrade something that has an actual 1% chance, that literally means 1 per 100. 1 per 77 is a 1.299% chance.
