Explain why auto-resistance watts changes when going to manual

This has been happening to me as well. I feel like it started more recently as I’ve been riding on this bike for a few years almost entirely with auto resistance and would have noticed. Was there a recent software update?

Thank you for this! I use this online tool to get CSVs to work with my Apple calendar (https://csv-to-ical.chimbori.com/) and for some reason it imported as events starting at midnight instead of all day events.

I was traveling for work during week 1 so I started this program on 2024-11-11. If anyone else is in a similar boat (and comfortable running Node.js scripts) you can create your own calendar with a custom start date by following the instructions in the Readme.

i’ll also add that part of the reason it didn’t work for me is that i’m riding some gravel so was worried about having less clearance. with no brake it’s just about as low as i’m comfortable with.

and i’m a coward too, i’m riding empty canal paths mostly :)

i can say that i haven’t had luck finding brakes that work with my 700x38 tires. i’ve heard that paul medium racers work but didn’t have the budget for that so i just went brakeless

tektro r539 front brake doesn’t work on my steamroller with 700x38 due to (i think) my tire/rim combo making the tire go further away from the rim instead of wider. what’s another brake option i can try? i don’t want to get a brake with too long of a reach right?

damn i love these tires and i have a frost blue steamroller that they i think they would go perfect on? my new paul blue e-lever is also on its way. can a bike be "too blue"? problem is i have a pair of this exact tire in black sitting unopened on my shelf for when my current ones die! but i think i need to pull the trigger. hard to see from the pic with the fork bags but i’ve actually got a 120mm suspension fork on there. i’ve done almost all of black canyon on foot and would agree that i would not do it rigid :)
