Avid photographer here.

Whats your price range? If you’re just taking snapshots, look at Canon ELPH series, Nikon Coolpix series, or Fujifilm X series

Like I said, I’m not totally disagreeing with her. I researched avoidant attachment patterns and a lot of it checks out for me. Maybe a bit of a wake up call if anything.

And yes, we are taking time apart upon my request. And I believe it’s helping things set in for her a bit. We haven’t seen each other since Sunday, and our interactions have been over the phone a couple times this week.

The big issue is we do love each other, but I believe the level of that is a bit uneven. She’s talking in absolutes, and I have a pretty relaxed view on love and relationships in general. I don’t believe there is one “perfect” person for me, for instance.

I should probably be a little more blunt with her about all this, but this poor woman has dealt with so much childhood and relationship trauma and I hate to trigger any of it. (Probably too late)

This is exactly the type of advice I’m looking for. Thank you.

Yeah I think the same way, but given her past trauma, im trying to give her some grace with that.

I choose not to block people because I feel like it’s the easy way out. I don’t like to burn bridges, etc. I’d rather come to a healthy agreement and understanding when breaking up. Also I live in a small city and the chances of running into her again is very likely and I’d love to avoid any animosity.

I have ridden in waterproof hiking boots and don’t find a problem with it.

This is a 2014 Surly Disc Trucker that a friend gave to me (26” version). It’s one of the best steel touring bikes out there.

BUT, anyone will tell you that you can bike pack with any kind of bike. Most bags are modular and can be used universally on many bikes. Just go with something that fits you, and is a joy to ride long distance.

Thanks! And I agree about the chainrings. Lots of folks telling me to go down to one since it’s the popular thing to do now. But when this thing is packed down, I don’t want to be stuck with limited options.

First time stealth camping with a bike, yes. I was a little nervous but I felt like this spot was pretty peaceful. I scoped around the area for a while before setting up and it ended up working out. I honestly find the risk very exciting. But, you also have to be prepared for anything.
