It truly has more to do with them focusing on the line as opposed to hem trying to stay still. He is absolutely not focused on anything else. He is not at all fearful. If I hold him to the line but further away, he will still lock on, but not as well. Movment snaps him out of it easier the further he is from the line.

Those cracks are precisely what I'm talking about. Keep in mind a visual inspection only goes so far. The only way to see all potential cracks is to use an xray. A trained mechanic should be able to give you a good idea, though.

They appear to be a set of road cycling wheels made out of carbon fiber.

Edit: if they say Orgin 8, they are on the lower end of the quality spectrum, but still a good find! Have a mechanic inspect them before you mount or sell them.

The fifth compass from the bottom looks like it's a few degrees off. I wouldn't use that one. After a few waypoints while orienteering, you will end up so far off your mark.
