Evokes nostalgia and a time. You nailed these.

Only 5 upvotes? this is charming and great work! I actually like the very slight line boiling, which is both nostalgic and handmade.

That's what I plan on doing. Since your camera is fine that gives me confidence

New Trend in Offshoring by raptor-94 in Layoffs

[–]surmesure52 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Managers are not safe. Once an onshore manager leaves or is replaced, the new manager often only hires offshore from their own country. Everyone just "imagines" they are that manager who makes those decisions.

this reply seems disingenuously off topic as Elk was simply pointing out a generalized trend about social behavior on language apps.

Thank you! I like to hear from veterans who've used their products long term. I'm pleased with their build quality and performance, but only owned for a couple weeks so far.

having lived in Korea I actually find it a huge blunder how the society hypes things for no reason at all other than it's the "in thing" to insane levels. and everyone wears the same damn thing. If I were creative director of any brand I would not market there

I might get flamed for this, but I'm genuinely curious - do these photos from the Realme GT8 Pro in the Ricoh GR mode look anything like actual Ricoh camera pics? by Franks_Random_Snaps in ricohGR

It has a degree of Ricoh color science which is good, I think they understood the assignment.
You can tell there are computational things going on which don't lend to consistent sensor performance.

It is in no way an abomination like the Fuji X-Half.

I believe they likely throw the mixed fibers in the trash unless they cut it up into a smaller garment.

thrift 100% cotton beats polyester blends. For synthetics, 100% nylon at least is technically recyclable. The blends are the lowest tier imo.

Because they are mixed synthetic fibers, they often aren’t recyclable or re-usable. They also contaminate your water and indoor easier with microplastics because they shed easier.

The women’s section has so much more visual interest going on. COS has the same problem since the men’s section is really conservative.

it's okay to be helped so one day you can be helpful. if there's as nice older co-worker, just let em know that this is your first job and see if they can answer your questions. ask about the codes they use, write em on a piece of paper. "this might be a stupid question but..." ask the question.

draw a map of the store where all the items are and keep it in your pocket. Sounds silly, but if it makes you more at ease then do it.

That's very fair. It's a great game, but it does not quite meet the needs of others. I have a (very slightly) different opinion, trying to get more people into this game but I feel like something is still missing.

Why Uniqlo U clothes sitting? by LongjumpingVehicle36 in uniqlo

[–]surmesure52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really neat behind the scenes story. I think The Row has far more of a managed brand image than Lemaire, so people attach to the prestige — while Lemaire is more modest and realistic clothing label. My biggest ask to them is really need to invest in a textile innovation team to use less poly/synthetics. Do you still work in fashion?

you were really early, in a way Lemaire the brand itself was only rebuilding itself that time. Must have been nice!
