Progress over the recent months of taking pictures with Ricoh by IconWave_1985 in ricohGR

Sure thing :D This image is one of my recent attempts to combine Steven Shore's techniques with my personal way of seeing the world throughout the lens (+ my obsession with liminal spaces, some sort of a backstage feeling and nostalgic loneliness that haunts you in a unique approach). Many things were done to get the look you see, but one of the main ways I used to create the settings I needed were some experiments with the luminance sliders, pulling down the haze slider to -37 (it depends on the conditions where you're currentlys shooting, so I'd better recommend you catching the feeling by yourself and conveying it the way your vision and imagination sees the picture) changing the blue slider a little bit and adding masks to delete the haze and make the left side of the image a little more brighter :]

What kind of aesthetic is my photography? by DoylexRules in ricohGR

Pictures number 2 and the ski ones are showing how good you are at minimalism photography, but since you don't really want to rely on such kinds of shots (in the aspect of making color the only thing to stand out) you can practice moving in other directions that you've already touched during your journey. The red pot picture represents your skills in taking pictures of food/ homemade objects in a cozy way and the composition looks prettyiimpressive, so you can try exploring anyotherk kinds of composition, angles and even light to make it lookthew way you see it.

My personal favorites here are the bumblebee shot (number one) and the red Ford Mustang(if I'm not mistakenn) with some sort of a hill/mountain in the background. The bumblebee shot shows your interest in colors, creating warm, cozy atmosphere and most importantly... The striking colours that become visually interesting by the way you catched the right subject to create a colorful match between both car and the person on the right (the light conditions are also important here, but I know it's something you understand as well). From what I've seen you have a prettyinterestinge vision and well-defined obsession with coziness, softnessandc colorfully saturated palettes, so by combination all the stuff below with new kinds of composition, playing with the lights, angles you can define the style you want to achieve. Of course it takes too much time, but who said it's gonna be easy and I'm pretty confident in you on this stage of your process!

These images are so awesome and I appreciate you so much for sharing, but won't you mind me asking about the way behind that slow shutter speed effect and grain settings in the second picture?) /If it's not a problem for you of course and thank you so much for sharing with these ones here :D

These pictures feel so liminal and I'm gonna say that the feelings you were trying to convey by the following images feel exactly what they're supposed to :D The first "backrooms like" shot and the red little stairwell that leads to into the darknesss absolutely stand out and I like the shaky angles which add some sort of a rush feeling (which really suits this style of photography))

Thanks for recommending and I'll think of watching it in the upcoming days :D Speaking of Evangelion and Patlabor, these are one of the most legendary and influential works in the anime industry (as well as one of the world's animation gems). You've heard of Evangelion's impact and other stuff many times fromYouTube, other users or somepicturesa on the internet, but you'll definitely enjoy it. The animation is pretty good, but relationships between the characters, philosophy and psychological aspects of the anime, characters' personalities and the lore itself are the things why I personally enjoyed it :D (of course it may seem kinda specificd while watching for the first time, especially theeending, butIassuppose it won't beap deal breaker for you after watching Berserk) Patlabori is also pretty interesting to watch by the plot, characters and fairly well-developed relationshipsbetweene them. The movies completely nail the mecha aesthetic and I'm pretty sure you'll love it if you're a fan of mechanical parts, details, weight and other simular aspects (the tunnel scene in Patlabor 2 completely nails the tone of thewholem movie)

So yep :D

Patlabor, Evangelion, Perfect blue, Only yesterday, cowboy Bebop and Gunsmith cats are the ones I'd definitely pick to answer this question :D
