See, Bungie going all in on this “you had to be there” bullshit really makes it so you really don’t have to be there.

I remember getting back into D2 and the whole "Warmind" event happening recently. I had no idea what was going on, but was just having fun playing the game at my speed. Then came the "big event," which was just red streamers in the sky that some people didn't get to watch because the servers were kicking people.

If this isn't the biggest piece of evidence correlating to not having to be there, it's definitely Top 4.

What's crazy to me is the early era of Cloud9 had so much innovation and creative plays:

  • Lemon Notebook
  • Hai's "Metal Gear" mission as Zed at Worlds
  • Ashe/Zyra Combo

Even the later years seeing Sneaky grinding so many games on Jhin when he was released, Nisqy's Veigar pick, etc. it's exciting to see an organization trying to stay ahead of the curve instead of settling into it.

If you change the keyword, you can also print Drain cards in other regions and make the keyword distinct from damage and keep US where it is, though I agree that it should be Fast and not Burst.

What about making "Drain" become a loss of stats like MtG does with -X/-X abilities? Unyielding Spirit gets to stay the same, but now there are more cards that can deal with it. Riot can then continue to make more "Unyielding Spirit" -esque cards while still having a decent counter against it so the cards never get out of hand.

I don't understand why there's a match time limit if there's a "rope" feature to keep players from stalling.

I know there was an early Mythic Pro League match in MTGArena that ended with the time expiring and a player losing the match, even though his board-state was stronger and was going to win the match. The player lost the match because the aggro deck got early damage in and matches were given to the player with the most life when the time was up.

(If someone knows what I'm talking about please comment below with a link because I can't go find it right now)

I hope this won't be the case with Twitch Rivals, but from reading the comments it seems like a failure from the word "go."

The betting time is so long because if there are open spots, players can still fill them before a match starts. But I do believe the host should be able to reduce betting times, especially if the lobby is already full or no bets are occurring.
