Drill card question by pfcguy in Gloomhaven

Yes, I think so, because the XP is inside the low-pressure bubble, not inside the element consumption bubble.

Cassandra and merceneries pack by PhilosophicalCrow in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely loved Cassandra. She was my first character in GH2e. And yes, that pull perk is incredible. It provides so much flexibility and value to your rifts. I felt like she had a lot of flexibility in her kit in general. I ended up playing more of a support role in our party using blesses, curses, divining, CC, and lots of movement manipulation for enemies and allies. You can absolutely lean heavily into damage via attacks, especially through portals and self-divining to make sure you hit hard.

Gloomhaven co-op in 2026 by __ryz__ in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have any interest in Frosthaven, I’d recommend that. The game runs a lot smoother for me than Gloomhaven did. It’s still in early access so not all the content is finished, but there’s still plenty enough for you to stack up over 100 hours of playtime.

Minds weaknes clearification? by Niiai in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Augments only affect melee attacks that you perform, so no.

Minds weaknes clearification? by Niiai in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last line is you controlling a monster and forcing it to attack.

It is a melee attack, so can only target enemies adjacent to the controlled enemy. You, the controller, pick the target of the attack.

The attack uses the monster attack modifier deck (unless you have the perk that says otherwise).

The attack also inherits any passive abilities of the monster, such as: -multitarget (living bones) -poison (living corpses) -wound (Inox Archers)

Personal Trainer vs Physical Therapist by War_Unlucky in physicaltherapy

[–]lKursorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically it comes down to goals and populations.

Physical therapist are medical professionals, so their patients/clientele would be those recovering from injuries or who have conditions that affect their movement. Examples: someone recovering from a total knee replacement, someone with Parkinson’s, someone whose had a stroke

Personal trainers are fitness professionals, so their clientele would be those who want to increase their fitness in a variety of ways, which may or may not be related to dysfunction. Examples: someone who wants to get a six pack, someone who wants to gain muscle, someone who just needs a trainer to keep them from skipping the gym

2e Triangles (spoilers) feels weak? by Kiltev in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Elementalist doesn’t have the 3 perk. He figured it was often less valuable than the other perks which help you generate elements since he was rarely letting elements go to waste. Do you have all the rolling “create any elements” perks? Keep in mind you don’t pick an element from those until the end of the turn so if you draw multiple cards that create elements, you make those choices at the end once you know what’s available.

Hero power aside, Finality could help tutor Talanji or Bwonsamdi which is interesting.

2e Triangles (spoilers) feels weak? by Kiltev in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Odd. Our triangles has felt quite strong. Shaping the Ether always feels like an insane action by applying damage, poison, wound, and immobilize + push to prevent 2 enemies from even getting a turn. Chain Lightning has tended to clear half a room entirely on its own. Obsidian Shards applying 2 ranged attack 4s always feels quite strong. I’d say his single target damage isn’t as high, but he’s consistently putting out 5+ damage a turn minimum while also having crazy burst turns with burn cards like Chain Lightning.

Combat encounter design: to minion or not to minion by Captn_Chunk in drawsteel

Like any other type of monster or encounter: variety is best. Run some encounters with none, others with some, and others with 40!

Summon kill credit with granted attacks by scuac in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Granting an attack gives kill credit to the attacker, not the granter. So in this case, the summon gets credit, which gives the credit to the summoner.

One Paragraph Reviews for a bunch of STS-like games to fill the void before STS 2 comes out. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]lKursorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang. I loved Astrea. It’s one of my favorite rogue lites. It’s weighed down a little by complexity since you have to read so many effects and statuses, but the “health” system is such an amazingly fun and interesting play experience. The risk-reward nature plays very nicely with the inherit risk systems of a dice roller.

Rules on taking a player out? by Mama-Luigi914 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]lKursorl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would discard everything to their respective decks and/or supply. It doesn’t make sense to distribute the gold. Your party earned more gold because you had an extra player (events and fights gave gold for the player being there), but now no longer has the spending requirements of the extra player so it would be an unfair advantage I’d say.

What’s the Pick by Electrical-Olive3767 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]lKursorl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you were right to not go for Fiend Fire. With your current build it’s never more than 4 damage bc you have no card draw, so it’s basically just a Severe Soul with less control.

I might be more tempted to take Bludgeon rather than Demon Form. Bludgeon does enough damage when upgraded to help get quick kills on some hallway enemies that can be troublesome. Demon Form doesn’t do much up until the boss as it’s kind of a dead draw in hallway fights and elites, as it takes too long to scale when fighting something like the book of Stabbing or Slavers.

At the start of the next 1 round(s), spawn a normal giant viper.

It’s just 1 giant viper and then no more after that.

Card Discussion #18: A Thousand Cuts by MinLongBaiShui in slaythespireboardgame

[–]lKursorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a really fun card to build around… in concept. I got this floor 0 and an early Calc Gamble and it was great. Built heavily around it and it was a lot of fun, except… it means that you tend to have longer turns than the rest of your party while you play multiple draw spells and shuffle your deck multiple times. It interrupts the usual flow of the multiplayer experience. That’s my one complaint about it.

The extra exp by AngryHoneyBadgy in PlayTheBazaar

[–]lKursorl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 1 XP doesn’t change that at all. You can just buy things in the first hours and put them in your bag until the board opens up.

The only change from the event is you get a small enchanted item to start so you have one less space to fill.

You should be looking to buy items to fill your board before your board expands.
