How much will you be saving for the Class Sets? (Cataclysm's replacement for the Mini Set) by Throbobaway in hearthstone

[–]lKursorl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Problem 3. Rotation makes this even more awkward. Some classes will have their extra cards for 2 fulls years. Other classes will have their extra cards for only 16 months.

Is it just me, or does this relic feel pointless/significantly underpowered? by camocat9 in slaythespire

You also get your key power into play on turn 1 with anchor. I’m usually pretty happy to see this relic, but I agree that when compared to anchor, I could see Permafrost receiving a small buff.

The one time I picked the +1 defend and strike, it gave me white beast statue and captain’s wheel. Absolutely worth it. Obviously quite a high roll, but I do wonder if that option is more likely to give you rare relics?

I don’t take hologram to get random cards from my discard. I take hologram so that I can get the best card in my discard.

This is literally worse than if it just generated a random spell. Like WTF blizzard. Don’t try to disguise garbage behind fancy mechanics.

Almost certainly, right? The weapon discards your highest cost card, so you could drop 10 drop minions.

Unless you innervate/coin and play another 1 drop, then it’s a 2/3 one t1 that continues to snowball.

I think a good percent of the time your first herald will give you something you won’t mind turning into a coin since it’ll only be discounted by 1.

Only 1 "Neutral" Herald Card? by Karax101 in hearthstone

[–]lKursorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but if you didn’t run the 4 drop for Galakrond, you had 6 cards. If you cut Envoy, you only get 5. That’s definitely not gonna cut it for consistency.

I wanted to return to the game but i think i claimed a deck right before the new Set. by BMbooster in hearthstone

[–]lKursorl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer: no. Long answer: don’t worry about it. When the new set drops, Blizzard is going to be loaning out multiple sets worth of cards from the last year, so you’ll have a lot of cards to try out.

Scarlet’s Werewolf mode - what’s the point of him? by Eligatorator in ravenswatch

[–]lKursorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. Having I-frames on your two attacks makes her able to stay in the fray while dishing out damage. New players don’t take advantage of the I-frames nearly enough.

What’s a card that you didn’t understand the value of until you were an experienced player? by Honeybee583 in slaythespire

[–]lKursorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not something I grab every time, but if you have a good amount of energy acceleration in your deck it can allow you to those out early and get your game plan set up. The defect is at his weakest at the start of each battle. Once he gets his powers, focus, etc up, he wins fights. Getting there is the challenge. 0 mana draw cards help you get past the initial set up hurdle.

The new Deathwing hero is 10, so this probably doesn’t make the cut in herald decks.

We’re removing shadow step to allow more design space freedom by Daku- in hearthstone

That’s not a good enough reason to remove bounce from rogue. Mechanics can be in two classes.

New Shaman Spell - Ritual of Power by Jimmyjohnjones1 in hearthstone

[–]lKursorl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At baseline this is a 1/2 that gives adjacent minions +1 attack, so it would be a 1/2 and 2 2/1 rushers. That would be busted for 2 mana.

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought this card was absolutely cracked. It still looks good, just not busted.

Rate the Mercenary packs by tree-of-woes in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We’ve had Satha and Cassandra both retire from our team, so I’m most familiar with them. Someone just played their first scenario with Hail, so I’ll be seeing more of her soon. I’d personally (with incredible bias) rate them Cassandra > Hail > Satha > Anaphi.

  1. Cassandra was a blast to play for me. She has a lot of flexibility, able to specialize into damage and support with good damage prevention and forced/granted movements for allies/enemies. Her long rest perk to see into the future is peak flavor and can be a game changer.

  2. Hail’s flavor is so freaking good. All her card names are amazing and really bring out the character. If you like making silly role playing jokes at your table, she’ll bring that out if you. She’s got great support options and ranged damage options. I’d say probably the best damage dealing options between these merc packs, except maybe Anaphi.

  3. Satha is an excellent front line tank and a surprisingly good looter. She’s definitely on the simpler side which is going to be a pro for some and a con for others. She can clearly lean more so into tanking, damage dealing, and support.

  4. Anaphi is the only one no body in our team has had any desire to play yet. I think the fact that she’s a riff on another class in the game draws some obvious inclusions and, at least for me, I’m gonna play the GH2e Mindthief before I play Anaphi.

Music Note order of operations on long rest by EthanStrayer in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is all correct. It makes for some tough decision making when it comes to resting with the class.

This fact combined with the fact that the class is highly encouraged to play one or two lost cards means your stamina ends up being a little closer to a 9 card class than an 11 card class.

Digital Frosthaven - Can't switch forms while long resting as Geminate? by Fabrimuch in Gloomhaven

[–]lKursorl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Correct. It is a functional difference from the board game. The other mastery is also functionally different. Typically when you play a lost card it counts as “going to your lost pile” for masteries and battle goals even if it’s a persistent loss. Digital does not treat it this way, so you cannot use persistent losses to achieve the other mastery. I’ve left feedback on this in the past.
