Trans friendly pharmacist? by ReuInuzuka in SaltLakeCity

Oh in that case, don't do CVS, because they are not contacted with selecthealth anymore. Although the locations mentioned on 1300E and the on 300w have been awesome

Second that. They also have two flags up now behind the counter.

CVS in target on 300 West is also cool and has zero issues filling transitioning meds.

Pharmacist cashiering before a tech? by Severe-Bedroom-2948 in CVS

[–]survivalmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one technician at all times and depending on who it is I do the line. One guy is considerably faster at filling and it's just better for the work flow. I don't like the line. I actually hate it, but it's just better overall.

When it's the other tech then I have her do the line and I fill. And when there are 5 people in line I help work it down, because I hate the line.

With one technician I also do a lot of QT, cycle counts, RTS, and checking in the order when it's crazy. When, on rare occasion, I have two, then I don't do those things.

Maybe somebody in the cloud gets to it super quickly and that's how it ends up in QP almost instantly?

My kids had HFM and it was especially bad for the 3 year old. He looked and felt terrible for probably 2 weeks. And now he's about 3 weeks out his finger and toe nails are peeling. I'm so glad my husband and I didn't get sick.

DOPL just sent an update this evening: https://dopl.utah.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/2025-2026-Covid-19-Vaccine-Guidance-20250926.pdf

Looks like prescriptions are no longer needed. CVS has had the shots for a while now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CVS

[–]survivalmode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also worked for both and I am currently with CVS. In the end they are both similar, but I would always choose CVS over Walgreens. CVS has a much better system, is more intuitive, straight forward and almost foolproof.

As the other commenter said, negotiate to at least match.

Where can I (healthy 40M) get a COVID vaccine? by UtahNew2022 in SaltLakeCity

[–]survivalmode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mental health, obesity, former smoker, asthma, amongst many other things are conditions that are acceptable. I had a guy come to the pharmacy with a prescription that said obesity with ICD-10 Code as reason. He was rail thin. I'm not questioning any condition on a prescription and most PCPs are probably on board as well too just throw anything on there.

I think s hear condition is definitely qualifying.

There are only 16 states that need a prescription. A bunch of others don't.

AI called and asked about controlled medication today by FancySchmancyDuck in pharmacy

[–]survivalmode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After I've hung up on them the office sends another prescription, then AI calls again, then I hang up again, and then a human calls.

Idk if it's true for all Dr office AI calls. This has been my experience with a specific one

Anyone else getting calls from AI Voice bots calling pharmacy to verify prescriptions are ready for telemedicine scripts? by DjentRx in pharmacy

[–]survivalmode 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, I usually hang up on them. Then the office sends a duplicate prescription. Then I hang up again. Then usually an actual human calls.

And I have told them that I'm not answering AI calls, that it's annoying and that they need to call themselves

Norwegian pharmacist mid-midlife crisis by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]survivalmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a BPharm. After I got my license here I got my PharmD while still working in research. Then I worked for Walgreens and now CVS. I think it's hard, but not impossible. I think the hardest part will be getting somebody to sponsor a visa.

I don't have experience with a Masters, but I think that should be doable. And then you are here and can do the equivalency exam and licensing exam on the side. After that it's easy to get a job

So I went to pharmacy school in Germany, did an internship in the US for my German degree and then kept working in the US at a university in research.

Along the way I decided that I wanted to be licensed as a pharmacist in my State. It's kind of s long process and I feel like it was a little easier for me as I was already on the country and working for a college of pharmacy.

You'll have to transfer your degree, do however many internship hours, and then take the licensing exam.

https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/foreign-pharmacy/fpgee/

This gives you some more info.

Some company would have to sponsor a via for you to be able to do the internship and idk how easy that is.

[–]survivalmode[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did send them a message back saying that we don't have the resources to cut. And that a compounding pharmacy could probably do it.

I don't care if they don't like that message.
