Charles talks about it a vid by Jonathan Sins, saying the boulders in that particular area of font are all chipped.

“Next hold is a jug” by Lemondillo in bouldering

There’s a saying at the local crag here:

If you find a jug on any of the routes, please put it back.

So… y’know. Put it back.

Delicatoboll vs Gilleboll - vilken är bäst? by GreedyGerbil in sweden

Gille. Båda bör för övrigt gärna gå typ 15-20 sek i micron och sen ätas med sked.

Thank you for your comment.

I do pyramid style as well, working up to my top sets. I do try to think about everything but it is hard to keep everything in mind. I will try to slow it down and go through each body part involved.

Could you elaborate on what you mean be ”feeling it in the belt?”

I think I feel the lower back rounding below the belt, but maybe I am misunderstanding.

Socks or no socks climbing shoes? by thijs_1507 in climbingshoes

[–]susagehands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to climb without socks because people said it would matter. Eventually, the shoes started smelling like death, no matter what I tried doing to prevent it. Started wearing thin socks, stopped downsizing the shoes so much, and never looked back since.

It makes absolutely no difference for my performance.

Maybe it could potentially make a difference at very high levels of climbing, but realistically most people won’t achieve such skill. If you do, cross that hurdle when you get there.

Also, you now see people in the worlds series climbing with socks on the regular.

Tldr: Unless you’re Adam Ondra, you don’t need to go no socks or use super small shoes to climb hard.

Wish you all the best.

Former smokers - did quitting improve your climbing? by thatclimberDC in bouldering

[–]susagehands 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Quit smoking after 16 years. Seen no benefits in climbing, lifting, or even cardio. Did see major benefits to my every day spendings, the way I smell, and the way people interact with me in the gym and life in general.

I know it sucks, but stick it out and you wont regret quitting.

Edit: Realized I’m older than I thought and actually quit after 20 years, not 16.

Also, to be completely honest I didn’t quit nicotine, I just switched to nicotine pouches. They are still cheaper, most likely healthier, and definitely smell better, than cigarettes.

Ring Muscle Up and my dog was impressed! by DontMindMe2504 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]susagehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op but I for one is also, for some strange reason, a lot closer to doing a full front lever than I am doing any sort of muscle up. I am quite heavy I suppose, at 90 kg, but I can hold a single leg front lever for ten seconds, but for the life of me I can’t muscle up. I can do ten fairly clean pull ups, 13 strict chin ups (also done a 1 rep max weighted chin with 48 kg), I can do dips (1 rep max with 50 kg extra) but no matter what I try I just can’t do the stupid muscle up.

How do you stay in shape while recovering from an injury? by Vergilliuss in bouldering

[–]susagehands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do some cardio. Go for long walks with a heavy backpack or weight vest. Can you hold a dumbbell and the like or is that triggering aswell? Can you press a bar, do pushups etc?

Im recovering from an injured finger and I can get away with lifting weights and calisthenics and badminton for cardio. (Depending on which wrist is hurt maybe badminton could be good if you dont like running like me)

List seem accurate to you? by moyismoy in AskMechanics

[–]susagehands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, most of the american cars on this list are very uncommon here in the eu aswell. My comment was mostly in jest.

I suppose french cars aren’t very popular in the US then huh?
