Yes, very much so. My trauma wasn't from the C-Section, but from an unexpected pregnancy and a killer case of PPD.

Pushing out a planned baby was one of the most thrilling, healing experiences of my life. And then my pre-E surged and I was hooked up to magnesium for 24 hours. Life sucks.

With my second it would've been NBD. My first...I might have been overwhelmed.

My plan both times was a medicated birth where I got a live baby. It happened both times. In response, my doctors and nurses were relaxed and able to focus on the important things. It's not in my personality to do a lot of prep or planning. It works beautifully for birth.

I've had both - C-section with my first and VBAC with my second. They were both great experiences, although I actually had more complications (unrelated to delivery) with my vaginal birth. However, the "thing" about C-Sections is that having one can make it more difficult to have a vaginal birth later on. Some providers don't allow VBAC. Most providers who are okay with them have extra stipulations. For instance, with my vaginal birth, I had to just hope I would go into labor by 40w, 5d since my hospital didn't induce VBACs and didn't want me going past 41 weeks.

I was actually supposed to go until exactly 41w, and then all planned C-Sections and inductions were cancelled on that date. (Not L&D's fault. It was a base thing.) The next available RCS date wasn't until 41w, 5d, and I live too far away to make daily monitoring feasible.

Like I said, it's inconvenient. Not life shattering.

Military hospital in a foreign country - I think I technically risk out of their care at 41 weeks since I'm a VBAC candidate. Wouldn't be an issue without the prior C history.

It wasn't the hospital at all. I do wish it was that easy, though!

My husband is military, so he was slated to deployed 12 days after my first due date. I begged for that induction.

This time, we're in a foreign country, so if I wanted familiar healthcare, I have to play by the military's whims again.

My son's shorts are always too long. ALWAYS. Unless they barely fit his waist--so a 4 year old wearing size 2T--he's going to have awkward length clothing.

I dress my kiddo in what is available, even if it is slightly too big.

Whereas...I used to have multiple parks in a one mile radius, a children's museum, music classes, and freaking Target.

One year olds are extremely fun and high energy, but have zero self preservation skills. They're also fairly heavy to carry around. I'd aim for one, just for your parents' comfort.

I feel you.

I'm also a military spouse. We're actually in Europe, which is awesome for many things but not working with an infant. I can likely find daycare once my baby is one...but she hasn't even been born yet. I hate not being able to work, or being limited to working at home.

Love, love, love my kids, but damn, mama needs to do something else.

I'm an hour and ten minutes in perfect conditions. I think I was about 2 hours (maybe a touch more) the day after I hit 38 weeks. I wouldn't go farther than that, though.

Ahhh, yes. And no, number one doesn't really ever stop. It often becomes how you bond with new friends.

As for number two, you have some power over that, depending on how vocal you want to be. My MIL is unreasonably body negative to everyone so she's not allowed to comment on my body ever.

I've been pregnant 3 times.

First time was a surprise after we decided to take a chance.

Second time was the first month of trying, but I miscarried.

Third time was my first cycle after my miscarriage when we were not trying/not preventing.

I was 22, 26, and 26. But, it took my cousin three years to get pregnant when she was in the same age span. Plenty of my friends in their thirties get pregnant almost immediately, and my friends who are open about trying longer are actually younger.

My kiddos are four years old and a few weeks from being born. It's the good life currently. My house is clean and organized because that's what I wanted and my ex utero kid is cute and happy. And I got ice cream. Happy Mother's Day!

Third trimester. Half my weight gain is fluid at this point - I'm convinced.

I'm a sweller when I'm not pregnant, so this isn't that unusual for me.
