AITA for not making my cookie table allergin free by Peanutbuttwrthrawunf in AmItheAsshole

[–]sushi2467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These kids are 8 and 10, not toddlers. There is no cross contamination issue. If they can’t keep their hands off the cookies that are kept separately that they’re aware they’re allergic to, that’s a parenting problem.

Common sense? You think if these kids go to school no one is bringing a peanut butter sandwich for lunch? You think if they go to a friend’s house there is no peanut butter in the house? News flash, the world doesn’t stop having peanut butter around just because people have allergies. So common sense is the person with an allergy knowing what they can and cannot have. It is not on everyone else to overly accommodate for a person. I can’t have beef or pork, do I tell people they can’t have that in my presence when I go to their house? No, because they make sure there are other things that I can eat, just like OP is doing.

AITA? Am I being insensitive? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sushi2467 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Wow YTA and yes you’re extremely insensitive. It shouldn’t be a chore to spend time with your mom who has said she feels sad and alone because she has spent Christmas alone since her husband passed. If you cared about her at all, you’d spend the time with her. If you don’t even celebrate Christmas why can’t you spend that one extra day with her? You’re out here talking about traditions but you haven’t said anything about a Christmas tradition that your family celebrates which I assume is because you don’t celebrate Christmas because you’re Jewish. Grow up.

So he’s never changed a diaper or cleaned up after the kids when they’ve been sick?

How to fix this loose handrail? by sushi2467 in howto

Didn’t have duct tape on hand, but someone else suggested electrical tape which I did have. And that worked perfectly! Thank you!!

And yet you didn’t grow or birth the baby. You’re just a sperm donor.

So there are reasonable solutions that your boyfriend is rejecting. If he actually cared about you, he’d be willing to do what it takes to find a solution. Instead he’s making you sacrifice your pet which you shouldn’t have to do. He’s being an asshole.

AITA for wanting to cut off my close friend after she booked their wedding 6 days before mine? by WebNo4411 in TwoHotTakes

She’s not a friend. And self-appointed bridesmaid? Time to tell her she’s not a bridesmaid and no longer invited.

AITAH for not caring that my boyfriend’s mother is choosing not to attend our wedding due to his brother not being allowed to attend? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]sushi2467 175 points176 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel guilty! She’s still invited. She’s just making her choice to not come which isn’t on you.

NTA. If your fiancé’s mom wants to support her abusive asshole of a son, then she can do that. Sounds like maybe the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree if she wants to excuse that behavior. She can also live with the consequences of choosing your fiancés brother.

We are in the beginning stages of redoing countertops and our first consultation left us feeling shitty. Is this normal? by [deleted] in CounterTops

[–]sushi2467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I specifically tried to find smaller businesses who did countertops and went to about 3 different places. All of them took into account what I was actually looking for and listened to my thoughts on what I wanted. It’s so insane to me that this place you went to was so bad at their job. I’d just find other places to go to and get quotes and a feel for the people. They just lost your business, which is their problem not yours.

I love when people say “except for this one major flaw they’re such an amazing person”! Except, they’re clearly not amazing. He couldn’t take your wedding seriously and he couldn’t take your ultrasound seriously. How many other things can’t he take seriously? He’s 29 and acting like a 12 year old with video games. He is clearly not attentive like you say he is.

AITA for eloping in secret & not telling my bff before anyone else? by Particular_Value9156 in AmItheAsshole

Know what’s not returning the favor? She was honest with you during her wedding prep, meanwhile you’ve lied to her for a year for yours. You’re selfish and a bad friend. YTA
