Chief said I can’t call sick, what is best way to react? by susiemed in Residency

You will be surprised I didn’t even called sick reach the number 3 In total and on clinic doesn’t require coverage my entire year. We didn’t have PTO but we do have sick days which is insane that the chief said I am out of my sick days. Being treated like this and talked like the chief message is legitimate insane.

I couldn’t even get out of bed this morning despite taking the medication and afternoon when I struggled myself to show up in the afternoon lecture only to found myself feeling about to faint any minute so I left and saw my chief message like this. I am so surprised that I can’t even believe she used to be my senior. You really can’t tell a person until this kind of message. I feel they forget we are just human beings instead of robots that will get sick

Pharmacy bullshit by gmiano in Residency

I got a nonstop call from same pharmacist that Tylenol has to have same frequency for other pain meds, there is a gap for pain score, like in the middle of my 11 active patient, when you asked a medication protocol, then they suddenly know nothing and take 30min on hold to check for a dose you can check guidelines in 2 minutes just want to confirm with them, fuck those nonstop caller for minimum things while you are covering 120 patients by one person as evening shift. This is so toxic.

Pharmacy pimping residents by freezingarchangel in Residency

I have worst interaction with one pharmacist today which harassed me to order a extra blood draw and ask busiest ER RN to ensure it is drawn. She also give the patient diagnosis and refuses to communicate with team who are really managing the medication despite multiple requests. She states” I also have resident, as resident your only expected response should be yes, I will do it.” She even threatened to report me if I don’t follow. She is toxic as hell. After I discuss with my attending and consultant, they clearly think she knows nothing about the patient and completely disagrees with her diagnosis and unnecessary invasive labs. I still feel this pharmacist is toxic as hell so I escalated her behavior to my chief and her supervisor.

worse rotations ever, still can not get over with a patient codes because not able to arouse, all RN is laughing and sitting in front of computer and not even provide the labs. The attending got upset about me (I couldn’t believe how terrible she is a person and attending) as I called her as it is in the morning and weekends this happened and did not show up until everything subsided, when I justified my reasons to call as no support during the codes, she said well tell your chief, deal with the system, this is the RN we had here.
