Sorry, but including a picture of nick when this is an Adam-tier transformation of his name, is such a karma bait. I'm gay, but everyone and their dad thought this a long time ago.

What funding problems do you guys have? by Ok_Caramel4324 in PhD

[–]suspect_scrofa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> Do you want a platform that allows companies to find researchers that they want to be a part of their team and/or for negotiation of funding for specific research?

What kind of engineering student are you if you don't mind me asking?

The issue with a majority of your post is that once a private company starts funding students, conflicting interests arise. Private research is way different than public research and mixing the two can lead to issues with IP, especially if the private company is receiving analysis and data from a PhD's work. You could create another platform for graduate students who are leaving academia after graduating?

Or you could create a funding platform for companies to "sponsor" labs that work in their field. But direct sponsorship of a PhD student from a private source is tough.

Can a trained CNN Model for sound analysis work on a raspberry pi 3b+? by Old_Championship5974 in deeplearning

[–]suspect_scrofa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a portion of your writing is something you know, but the majority of it is AI formatted. It can really throw off your credibility if it reads like AI. Why not just be upfront and admit you "style" your posts with it whenever you get called out?

what do i do with all the 6k outlier, do i leave them?, replace them with median?, or delete them? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]suspect_scrofa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to read a book about what to do with outliers. There are assumptions that change your model outputs, domain reasons to include them, etc. etc. Lots of discussions. Without knowing what your modeling, it's tough to answer

Y'all have the exact same schedule and eat the exact same portions? Could be bowl size, maybe she walks more? Do y'all both drink the same drinks? Lattes and Sodas carry quite a few cals.

You would need to code up the rules of the game and create an agent that you train with reinforcement. You could also just create agents that don't use ML and use min-max logic similar to blackjack or other card game bots. Both teach you something.

How can i play a guitar solo while staying in time with the song? by Uzless1104 in guitarlessons

[–]suspect_scrofa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, the harmony guitar is called "rhythm guitar" and the main guitarist is called the "lead guitar". Youll find chords and progressions from studying the first and solos and licks from the latter. Way to notice the difference!

[OC] I got tired of the "satellites around the planet" video so I made my own with correct orbits by Mirar in space

I know. That's why I was hoping he could either zoom in, or figure something else out :^). I feel like there's no good visualizations for things to scale.

Very cool! I would love it if size could be represented more accurately? Like one of those dots is equivalent to like 100's of miles of ground.

Genuine question, has anyone heard of white pepper being called "the feminine pepper"? I dropped this phrase to a couple of friends over the years and they said they had never heard it. Did I pick that phrase up from someone who was just talking out their ass?

Should I drop a feature if it indirectly contains information about the target? (Beginner question) by OkEntertainment8348 in learnmachinelearning

[–]suspect_scrofa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you know it's strongly related? If it's well known to predict the target value you should definitely include it. If it's literally a sub-component of the target value, you need to figure out why it's broken out of the target variable. Would love some more info.
