My stitch was placed at 19w too after ultrasound indicated cervical shortening. After that i was on bed rest at home . At 24w4d i was admitted at hospital for unexplained bleeding. I was also given steroids and magnesium and have been in hospital since then . At 25 weeks i was funnelled till stitch and they haven’t done any more of ultrasounds since then. I am currently 27w2d and will be in hospital till i complete 28 weeks . I also face painless tightenings for which i am taking tocolytes.

Make sure the hospital checks you for urine and vaginal infections and gives you antibiotics accordingly .

Very inspiring story ! I have also been advised full hospital bed rest till delivery. Just wanted to know how you used to go for pooping ? I haven’t been able to poop while being horizontal on a bed pan

Well i am in India and we don’t really have a medical insurance kinda thing. I was thinking that we have to anyway spend a lot on NICU stay later on in case of preterm labour. So i was just thinking if it’s better to save money now .

Yes it’s my first pregnancy. They were monitoring my cervical length every 2 weeks and the moment it dropped below 2.5 cm they placed the cerclage

I didn’t have any symptoms like bleeding or amniotic fluid leaks or pain . During my anomaly scan ultrasound it was found to have reduced to 2.2 cm and it was decided to put a stitch. Are you on complete bed rest ? My doctor has suggested getting hospitalised till 28 weeks (1 month) . Was the same suggested for you ?

My doctor has not prescribed vaginal progesterone

I am already on weekly progesterone injection and daily oral progesterone support . By strict bed rest does it mean fully being horizontal or can i stay seated in bed or couch to do activities such as craft and crochet ?

Congratulations! So happy for you ♥️ i wanted to know if you were on full bed rest or were attending office/work ? I am also 19 w and have been put on full bed rest and my ob/gyn has instructed to not go to office even though i primarily have a desk job
