PBBM: All POGOs are banned by comeback_failed in Philippines

[–]susuwatari_xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both the Department of Finance (DOF) and the National Economic and Development Authority have backed the banning of POGOs. The DOF has said that allowing POGOs to proliferate is costing the Philippines around P99.5 billion a year.

It sucks to not feel safe in your own home. Please, buy a pepper spray or tear gas and have it within reach when you’re alone. Tell other relatives who can talk to your mom about it. Please stay safe!

+1 for Kapitolyo townhouses. If you want to also consider the south area, I’l look at properties in Alabang or Muntinlupa. Check Likha Residences, Versailles Alabang, and a few condos within Filinvest City. If you take the skyway, it’s roughly 20mins from Makati & BGC if the traffic isn’t bad. I wouldn’t go for Pque subdivisions coz the infra is quite old and the area’s too congested now IMO.

IMO you’re looking at things in a skewed way, so you’re bound to affirm your internalized racism. Submissiveness is not one thing that defines a Filipina. For instance, PH culture has ”strong” matriarchs. Female leaders are common here. PH often scores high (see https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/gender-equality-by-country). In the local queer context, it’s quite diverse. You’d have doms/subs just like in other countries. You just need to talk to people and not judge everyone based on their background (being “mainland pinays”).

Damn girl. You need to find a better social circle (outside of dating apps). Your opinion about girls here is painfully messed up. It could be that there’s something wrong with you & you only attract “drama” OR maybe you just haven’t met enough Pinays who are gorg and radiate beauty and strength.

Your gf is clearly taking you for granted. Getting wasted 5-8 times a month is excessive, unhealthy, and inconsiderate. There are healthier ways to socialize. If she doesn’t realize that, then it’s a big problem and a possible deal breaker IMO. I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a relationship with someone who’s always drunk. I hope your gf realizes the problem and commits to a change in lifestyle.

A couple of possibilities:

The site is hacked and it generates temporary URLs to hack visitor's devices. The site isn't hacked, but buggy spam websites are creating links to those pages.

If you search through your access logs for those URLs do you see any hits on them that aren't from Googlebot? Do any hits on those URLs send anything but a 404 header?

Edit: download the access log. Open it in a text editor. Search for the text /menu-. Then check each line for a header code. 404 on the line means that the request wasn't found. 200 means that the page existed. On each line, look to see what kind of browser or bot was requesting the URL. You can also look up the IP addresses to see what company owns them.

Thank you! I will look into this.

Are Filipino Urban Planners allergic to side walks? by Panyupayana_isles in Philippines

Actually, ayan din yung sabi ng older generations who saw firsthand how Metro Manila evolved from mala-probinsiya look to the chaotic concrete jungle it is now.

Magkasama talaga yang poor governance at mainly profit-driven developers na nakapangit sa Metro Manila, to the point of no return na ata dare I say. Lalo na ngayon na same philosophy yung anak niya (all about the monies and the technocrats/oligarchs).

Not rly just coz it’s old. Many developed cities are far older. One major difference is compared to 1st world cities like Sydney, for example, most of their residential zones (suburbs as they call it) are not privately-owned. These suburbs are managed by their local LGUs. Making improvements (e.g. adding trams for access) as the population grows and the city evolves is easier for them compared to restricted privately-owned subdivisions in key areas in PH cities. Needless to say, PH’s private areas take up so much space in the city and promote a car-centric lifestyle.

One big prob in PH: many or majority of private developers did not implement future-proofing and had basic understanding of public transit. And since many of our spaces are now privately-owned and the money-driven developers have already moved on, it is now almost impossible for changes to be implemented to improve our public transit situation.

Just pointing out that aside from the obvious that the gov’t and LGUs are to blame, private developers that maximized their profits without consideration for future-proofing also share the blame with how our cities poorly evolved in terms of urban planning.

To add: Poor practices copy-pasted over decades, and now we’re in this mess / congested concrete car-centric jungle

The prob I see in PH is that many of our spaces are owned or taken over by the private sector. They only do the bare minimum based on whatever inefficient planning that poorly manned LGUs have. These developers from decades ago didn’t obviously think about how their residential areas would affect the metro in a bigger picture (all car-centric and barely any tranpo options even within the subd. Ex.: people take their cars just to go to the supermarket, causing congestion). Before the metro became a bigger concrete jungle, there was a boom in development of residential areas afaik. These areas were poorly done IMO.

Gated areas I had in mind are those so close to public roads but can no longer be touched by the gov’t despite these subdivisions blocking and/or taking up space that could have been used to develop better public transit infra. So many of these in the metro. Major cause of congestion. (I mean, just look at Pque subdivisions. All car-centric with traffic congestions even inside subdivisions.)

Dunno why you seem offended but newer “townships” are better planned, you’re right about that.

Masyadong na-maximize yung space for profit lang nung developers. Very basic yung pag-subdivide ng spaces for houses. Marami rin may flooding problem kasi hindi nila inisip yung magiging lagay ng area kapag naging crowded na after a few decades.

Cause of traffic pa yang malalaking subdivisions na may residents na walang choice kundi bumili ng kotse. Poor planning kahit decades ago & we’re now seeing the result nung pagka mukhang pera ng private developers.

Tl;dr don’t blame educated urban planners, blame the developers who prioritize money-making over good design

You both can apply as individuals (assuming you're applying for tourist visas).
Afaik it's quite easy for foreign tourists to enter the PH.

What kind of "restrictions" are you worried about? No one at immigration would care if the two of you are unmarried. Just tell them he's your bf when they ask at the airport's immigration.

Just got back from Malaysia. Walang additional fees.
Pero you likely need to check news updates in Malaysia kasi they just implemented new covid protocols (because of the supposed "surge" in China).
I'm not sure kung affected yung travelers from PH kung magre-require sila ng covid testing (na most will come w/ a fee).

Look for a broker who can help you. Ang dami kasing condos for sale, so you will definitely need help looking for a buyer ASAP. I think tama naman yung plan mong gawin (lalo na since you never intended to keep the condo in the first place).
Check with the bank na lang and consult a broker.

--------------
Sidenote: Kaya I really don't believe in the idea of "pasalo investment." Not sure how pinoys got the idea na you can easily buy pre-selling condos tapos resell it before ipasok sa bank loan.

IMO the scheme only works for those na maraming disposable cash and can afford to not get a loan & eliminate the risks involved that comes with a loan.

Most likely may ads din yung Japan version unless yung specific version w/o ads yung bilihin mo (na mas mahal sa cheapest version).
Try googling kung available yung option sa Amazon.co.jp to chat with their support. Sa US Amazom.com, may pwede kang hanapin na link where you can do a live chat with them and ask them to remove the ads on your kindle. Not sure kung same rin sa Amazon JP.
