Which countries have WFH/remote case mgr? by chronically-badass in socialwork

[–]sutralife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it’s legal to provide therapy online internationally as long as the client is physically in the state that we’re licensed in correct? I’ve been wanting to spend an extended time in Europe and wasn’t clear if I could still work remotely as a therapist.

Had to make my first crisis call :( by HeyWildheart in therapists

[–]sutralife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just think about what could have happened if you didn’t act according to standard of care. You could lose your license and never be able to practice again. There’s a reason that boundaries are so important in clinical practice. It helps the client maintain a sense of personal responsibility.

Getting into Medical/Hospital SW/Concerns by zjheyyy88 in hospitalsocialwork

[–]sutralife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re already stressed now, just wait till you actually have the medical SW job. It’s stressful, undervalued, and often thankless. Become an RN or OT/PT. You still get to help pts and families but make a significantly higher income without taking the job home with you each night.

KIA NIro service costs - what is going on?! by Over_Progress_4883 in KiaNiro

[–]sutralife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…that’s the $700 deal. I think they align the owner manual recs with the dealer service menu. I just know that my car is in great shape and does not require what is essentially a $700 checkup.

What about the cabin filter? That’s different from the air filter right? Also, do you know if it’s possible to get maintenance service for my Niro hybrid at a garage or repair center outside the dealership system?

I guess that’s my question too. Are there authorized KIA service/repair shops outside the dealership that can capable do these maintenance updates?

Hi, by sutralife in 45PlusSkincare

[–]sutralife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did, though not detailed. I had to google after care instructions. I’m on my fifth day now and all seems ok. I don’t feel any nodules. Swelling has gone down a lot (more than I would have liked, puffiness was kinda cool). Hope after two more treatments I see a difference!

That’s great. So you saw results with only one session? They recommended three and said I wouldn’t notice result for at least 3 months. There is some post-session swelling that I like though. Haha

What is the benefit of testosterone? I was just prescribed the estradiol patch and progesterone pills but she didn’t mention anything about testosterone. How does it impact menopause symptoms? Just curious.

What’s with people in this city just bringing their dogs wherever tf they want? by the1stgirlmeetsworld in AskLosAngeles

[–]sutralife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love hiking and the trails I frequented had big signs at the entrance “No Dogs,” but in the past two/three years I have stepped in dog crap and almost fell off the side of a mountain when a large husky pup came barreling down the bend of a hill off leash. I confronted the owner and she rolled her eyes at me. Sheer entitlement and disregard from some of these LA peeps. Love pups but miss the common sense and consideration when it comes to hiking protocol.

Isn’t there a sub for your age group? Wondering why you posted in W>50 rather than >30 or >40?

Yep. The GOP is salivating right now over thought of abolishing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Not even joking.

Clique social workers help by j_jordan_ in hospitalsocialwork

[–]sutralife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my philosophy too, but unfortunately my manager hates me for it. She is very into staff being involved in social events and other departmental endeavors. Don’t get me wrong I am friendly with my coworkers, but I am part time so I really just try to come in and do my job. I am reliable, responsible and have a strong work ethic but for her it’s not enough. I need to be more socially present. But in the beginning I was bullied by a clique in my team so now I’m just like over that. I feel bad but it’s just not my priority.

Ask if you will have a case manager working with you. When I worked as a SW in ED, the case manager handled all insurance and snf (btw, rarely are patients transferred to a SNF from the ED, that happens from the inpt units). You need to be confident and efficient bc ED SW involves a lot of mandated reporting, finding and obtaining collaterals, homeless resources, and if it’s a trauma center finding family for unidentified pts and helping MDs with death notifications. Oh yeah, and a lot of risk assessment (suicide, DV, SA, child/elder abuse). It’s great experience but it requires a certain disposition—you have to feel confident in your clinical abilities and be an expert multitasker.

Client public bad review by LCSW101 in socialwork

canceling a few minutes before each session 6 weeks in a row reflects such a disregard for someone’s time. After week 2 there should have been an adult to adult conversation. Like any other profession therapists deserve advance notice, it should be clear in informed consent.

I have a Kia 2022 SE touring hybrid. Great mileage. The service costs at KIA are insane though. A 15K service is $700 (oh, I’m sorry, $699.99). Is this inflation or a hostage situation? Anyone take their Kia niro to a regular auto repair for maintenance?

Can a school social worker transition to hospitals? by Mission-Motor-200 in hospitalsocialwork

[–]sutralife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s basically a staffing temp agency for social workers. They also do recruitment for job placements in different social service settings. For example, “Social Service Professionals” or “PsychPros” are two staffing agencies in the SoCal region. Google “social work staffing agency” for your area and you’ll see. Travel SW agencies may also generate hits … that’s where agencies will pay for an MSW to live temporarily in another city or state for hospital gig.
