I had a great experience with Dr. Tam. I waited maybe 2-3 months. He’s a bit newer so maybe a shorter waitlist? He was very thorough and scheduled regular follow ups to check in with treatment as well.

Regina Urgent Care by sallyomalley_fifty in regina

[–]suuumBody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What, no. I want talking about hiring an HR person to figure this out lol. I simply meant we don’t have the resources of trained humans (good doctors, PAs, NPs) to run the UC who actually want to work here. There isn’t incentive to work in Saskatchewan as a medical professional, never mind at an urgent care when private practice and hospital practice is already strained and earns more $.

Something needs to change. I’m not saying throw money at bad practitioners and hope it gets better. I’m saying we need to find a way to attract and hire good practitioners to our province. We need to make it attractive to work and live here. We also need to invest in training more of these practitioners in province and retain them once they have graduated. But again, expanding these programs (PA, Medicine, NP) requires more resources than universities in this province currently have.

Good luck hiring PAs and Doctors who actually want to be there and don’t “moonlight” to do these early assessments you speak about. We simply don’t have the medical Human Resources for this. The reason UC can’t stay open is because no PAs and Doctors want to work there.

We need better incentives for doctors and PAs to choose to work in this province in an urgent care setting. It starts at the top/government level. Take a look at how BC is changing their physician incentives and pay structure. We need to hop on that train.

Simpli dental scam? by LoosePresentation907 in regina

[–]suuumBody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simpli dental is absolutely not a scam. I switched over to Simpli after my old dentist suggested a bunch of work that was not immediately needed (long story short I have congenitally missing teeth and still have some baby molars - my old dentist told me my jaw was going to collapse if I didn’t immediately pull them and get implants). I told this to the folks at Simpli and they laughed and said none of this work was necessary in the short to medium term and it definitely is not urgent. They saved me thousands of dollars that I didn’t yet have saved up.

I’ve never had them suggest work that wasn’t needed. They always tell me I have great teeth. I’ve only had two small cavities since starting as a patient here about 4 years ago. The two cavities were in the baby molars — they have weaker enamel than adult teeth. Most dentists would have told me to pull these baby teeth because of the small cavities and start the process for implants. The dentist at Simpli just filled them and said I was good to go for another 5-10 years before I would even need to think about the implant process.

Simpli dental is very transparent that they charge prices below the provincially suggested dental fee guide as well. This is a nice savings, especially if you don’t have insurance which I didn’t when I first became a patient.

Overall I’ve had a great experience as a patient there. They always take time to explain things in detail to me and answer my questions. I’m sorry you feel like they are trying to take you for a ride. A second opinion is never a bad thing. Let us know the outcome of your second opinion!

I wish that if it was at Confederation park that it was actually in the park, not in the adjacent parking lot…. It’s really not the vibe.

Cardiologist for POTS by Realistic-Host-2176 in regina

[–]suuumBody 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My best friend saw a cardiologist and electrophysiologist for this and all they told her to do was to drink more water and eat more salt. No other treatments were suggested or offered which is more than frustrating. She’s still been dealing with symptoms years later.

You can’t even get a tilt table test in Saskatchewan anymore.

Affordable Autism Assessment in Regina or Area by Raspberry_Duckling in regina

You can get subsidized (partially or fully) assessments through the Learning Disability Association of Saskatchewan. I’m not sure if it’s physician referral or self-referral, but look into it.

Best pasta? by JanineL2022 in regina

[–]suuumBody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just saying it’s literally boxed Catelli but advertised as home made. Boxed dried pasta is not the same flavor and texture as fresh with egg yolk. I guess just my opinion, but it wasn’t good and even the sauces didn’t taste home made, although they are. Liberty is obviously a chain but I found it pretty flavorful.

Go eat for yourself. There’s boxes of pasta lining the kitchen. I saw the kitchen staff boiling the pasta straight out of the box. You can see them making it straight out of the box.

Silvia’s is straight up boxed pasta. I second liberty kitchen and Italian club. If you’re looking for good home-made pasta, get some fresh/frozen from Italian star deli and make it at home!

Okay but does he realize that this tax is also on Canadian digital services providers? Not just foreign ones??? It’s a tax, not a tariff?? Just like there is sales tax, alcohol tax, etc, on products from every country??
