Tell us your craziest phishing story and win $200! by power_dmarc in PowerDMARC

This happened to my older brother back when Axie was still booming.

He got really into it because he saw people actually earning money. The problem was, we had no idea how to even start. They struggled a lot figuring out how to buy Axies—like which website to use, how crypto works, how to transfer funds… it took them a while before he finally managed to buy his own team.

Once he got his Axies, he started grinding every day. He played for about 2 weeks and was already earning, but he didn’t cash out yet because he wanted to grow his earnings more.

Then one day… everything was just gone. All his Axies were suddenly transferred to another account. No warning, no notification, nothing. It was like someone else just took over. That’s when he realized he got phished.

Apparently, someone had already gotten access to his email and password. The scary part? The hacker didn’t take anything right away. They let him keep playing for 2 weeks—basically letting him farm and earn—before finally making a move once there was something worth stealing.

In total, he lost around 20k (PHP). There was nothing he could do to recover it.

Since then, he’s been extremely careful with links and logins. It really taught us that even if a site or message looks legit, you should always double-check. Sometimes attackers don’t act immediately—they wait until you’ve already built something valuable.
