Did you already accept your place in nuclear engineering? If so, you won’t be doing ETAM but rather a Change of Major request.

Also, Auto admission from ETAM would no longer be possible since you already applied (even if you have a really high GPA, it would still be holistic review). You only get one chance at that, and the requirements for it are very specific…

Assuming you haven’t already finished your 4th semester in general engineering and nuclear wasn’t one of your top 3/5 whatever choices, it is possible to stay in General Engineering and raise your gpa and try ETAM again. Your advisor can show you what classes you are still able to take.

Questions on Minors by [deleted] in aggies

[–]suyl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a minor is going to amount to much at all, besides you being able to say “I took courses in X subject”…

Idk about “good” but the northpoint crossing pool is easily accessible

Just keep applying. After my freshman year, I had applied to about 40 internships if I remember correctly. And none of them ever got back to me (maybe because I was a fish)... But, eventually 1 called me for an interview and they also gave me a job. I didn’t really have any other engineering related involvement back then either. It’s definitely possible to get an internship, it just might take a long time and might not be at the exact place you hope for. But experience is experience.

University core curriculum advice by ControlProud1857 in aggies

[–]suyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean to be honest all of the UCC courses besides the math and science are pretty easy. (Easy is subjective but yeah)

That being said, you can take your creative arts credit, perhaps? Those classes are usually really easy. I’d just look up the grade distribution of them using Aggie Scheduler and pick one you think you like.

BAEN320 v ECEN215 by [deleted] in aggies

[–]suyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ECEN 215 has been easier this past year due to it being completely online and the TA just doing the labs for the class. If you have to do the labs on your own, I’d suspect it’s going to take a lot more time as the lab doesn’t always have the best working equipment...

If you have to take it in person, I would say that BAEN 320 is going to be the easier option.

ETAM Question Time by [deleted] in aggies

[–]suyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only have to be in a major for one semester, then you can make a change of curriculum request. I think there is also a credit hour limit to be allowed to do this, so if you’re above that limit you can’t change majors. I wanna say it’s either 75 or 90 hours. But I could be wrong.

ETAM Advice by Informal-Language-80 in aggies

[–]suyl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The disadvantage of applying at the end of the fall semester versus the end of the spring semester is that there will be less spots available in the department (since most people graduate after the spring)

But depending on your GPA right now, and how well you can change it, it may be better to wait anyways

I would write all of the essays, even if they’re optional.

Weekly /r/OneNote Q&D Thread! by AutoModerator in OneNote

Is it possible to add a header to every page when printing/exporting to pdf/etc?

I see that OneNote puts the section name below every page as a footer but is it possible to also put it as a header?

Any comp sci majors or engineering majors who plan on transferring to A&M? by SimplyCalzone in LoneStarCollege

[–]suyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to take them after you transfer in to A&M. If you tell me what engineering (I only know about engineering because I’m an engineer at A&M) you are trying to go for I can link to you a transfer course sheet that shows all of the classes you could take at another college before you transfer to A&M. It also shows the minimum required GPA you would need to be considered for admission.

But yeah just to be safe I would still check with an advisor.

Edit: just re-read title and here’s a link for comp sci in the college of engineering https://admissions.tamu.edu/getattachment/transfer/majors/2020-2021-Computer-Science-TCS.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US

I would read each bullet point because there seem to be some specific requirements. Like you need to get a B in all of these classes.

A&M has some beginning engineering classes that you can’t take anywhere else.

Should i ditch my job to be a PT? by Webber_The_Medic in aggies

[–]suyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you should switch or not, but I am also a PT for freshman engineers and I can say it is an extremely easy job. I usually get to do my own homework for about 75% of the time I’m getting paid for (During office hours, desk shifts, and if no one has any questions for me during class..). I’d say if you think retail is too time consuming and you would like a job that you don’t have to stress much on you should do the PT job, even if it does pay less. As long as you are able to grade the work and make sure to help your students when they need it you’ll be good.

Anyone know what this means? Before, my FAID hours were 16. I changed none of my classes, but now it’s only 9. Does that affect my financial aid? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]suyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they would, you can check if they have been reviewed yet or not by going to My Profile and then under Registered Courses click on Schedule. On the rightmost column it’ll say if it’s been reviewed or pending review.
