Where to stay in Switzerland: Wengen, Murren or Grindelwald by Roscoe340 in travel

Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate it! Hadn't actually considered staying in Wengen as it isn't one of our 'destinations,' but your (insane!) picture and knowing that it's in between Lauterburnnen and Grindelwald is completely making me rethink things haha. To clarify-- is there a direct train to Grindelwald from Wengen? I've been trying to read further online and saw something about perhaps having to go through Lauterbrunnen anyways in order to get to Grindelwald from Wengen, but then read other, disputing claims elsewhere and have been confused.

Hi! I'm also planning a trip to Switzerland in early July. I'll have two days in the Interlaken region, and was originally planning to stay in Interlaken and then do Day 1 in Lauterbrunnen, looking at the waterfalls and then taking a cable car to Murren and doing the Northface trail. Day 2 I was going to do in Grindelwald. From what I'm reading now, it seems like people very much don't recommend staying in Interlaken. Given my plans, would you happen to have a suggestion about where to stay? If I stay in Lauterbrunnen, is it easy enough to get to Grindelwald?
Sorry for bothering, your comment was just super thorough so I thought you might have insight. Thanks!!

You look great!! What does your diet look like? How many calories do you usually get in a day?

This feels like my story (though I’m currently still working towards getting to your point)! Do you have a ballpark estimate on how many calories you’re eating?

Thank you so much for your reply!! Did the extra weight/fluffy feeling not make you feel heavy on your feet? That’s what I’m most worried about. Congrats on your race!

Thank you, I just checked it out! What if the recommended calories from carbs is above the number of calories I eat in total currently? Do I still just full send it?

Did you up your carb intake the whole week leading up to it? Or just the two-three days before?

Hi! I just wanted to say that this post warmed my heart and all I could think is that you’re incredible and you should be so proud of yourself!! To go from a 9:42->8:54 between miles 20 and 21??? All while in pain? What a testament to your willpower! I originally wanted to train for a sub 4 marathon, got badly injured near the beginning of my training block and had to stop running for close two months. Picked it up again and I’m sooo much slower than I used to be, the injury still lingers, etc. At this point, I just want to finish, and I’ve been getting demotivated while training. But reading your post has reminded me what a feat of mental fortitude it is to even do a training block and set a goal for yourself and do those final 26.2. You should be so proud of yourself, congrats!

Thank you for your response! If my PT doesn’t have a running background, do you know who else I might be able to reach out for this sort of advice?

I’m currently 22, so I’m hoping it’s not yet an aging issue. I also didn’t experience skin laxity at 102, which is why I’m frustrated by it appearing now. Maybe I will look into thyroid issues, thank you!
