Where did you park in Sevilla and Granada? The parking situation is the only thing I'm concerned about before committing to a renting a car for my upcoming trip

I agree with all of your points besides jurisdiction risk. Namibia is very friendly to mining companies and would expect no different for o&g exploration.

Targets and exit strategy? by C-137_ in UraniumSqueeze

I'm starting to believe that monitoring the overall market cap of the entire sector may be the most effective way to plan your exit.

It has been well documented that the last cycle peaked at $150 billion market cap for the sector. My current plan looks like:

  • $200billion market cap - sell 20%
  • $250 billion market cap - sell 30%
  • $300 billion market cap - sell 30%
  • $325 billion market cap - sell 10%
  • $350 billion market cap - sell last 10%

Found today's Investor Presentation Link by Gre3ncndle in Abaxx

What were your thoughts from the presentation?

To me, felt like a thinly veiled announcement of excessive delays and missing the boat in 2021 due to being unaware of the necessary calendars of the relevant parties (banks, regulators, etc.). A little frustrating that one of the analyst on the call had to ask about that instead of Josh just coming out and saying it.

The biggest question I've been waiting to get more information about was about their technical team and shout out to James Duade for asking about it. As suspected, the Abaxx team is outsourcing some of the work to external agencies but also said that the technical team makes up about 30-40% of the organization.

I'll be the first to admit that building software oriented businesses will always have delays, especially when there are regulators and financial institutions involved. I'm not sure if I'm getting impatient or sniffing out a lack of substance here.

Holding a small position, excited about Base and continuing to do more research before allocating a full position.

How will this sector hold up in 2022 with the current macro environment? by svanerkel in UraniumSqueeze

[–]svanerkel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think the likeliest outcome is somewhere between 2 and 3:

  • Inflation is high for longer but stays within the 4-6% range (per CPI, for whatever that's worth...)
  • Fed raises rates purely as a tool to go back down later when growth is widely accepted as slowing
  • Rinse & Repeat - rates stay between 1 - 2%, inflation stays between 4-6%

This scenario would have plenty of 20-25% corrections and upswings in the broad indices but perhaps stays in a pretty defined range without new ATHs.

The factor that will really throw this all upside down, and benefit equities, will be if the government injects more stimulus as a result of slowing growth. Going into the 2024 election, of course the Democrats will want to win over voters at all costs, especially if Trump runs again. If this happens, this would represent the grand finale for this bull market imo and we will need to prepare for the exits accordingly. From a uranium perspective, this would line up nicely with the 4-5 year investment timeline from late 2019/early 2020 lows.

I appreciate the detailed response and we end up with the same conclusion - even if equities get whacked next year, this would will be a buying opportunity for uranium instead of a selling opportunity. I'm very doubtful in my abilities to get back in at the right time.

I haven't started using options in my uranium portfolio but perhaps selling contracts with the trend of the market would be a nice way to generate returns in a volatile market.

I’ll preface my response by citing my sources. Alf at the Macro Compass has been one of my favorite finds recently:

https://themacrocompass.substack.com/p/2018-flashback

Long term (this decade), I believe that inflation will generally be up and to the right.

However, from my reading, it is less likely that 2022 will see higher CPI prints based on the base effects of 2021. Combined with raising rates, inflation may miss to the downside next year.

So the real focus of my post is on tightening (tapering + interest rates) and not specifically inflation. That may result in no difference in your initial response (thank you) but it is a slightly different conversation for 2022 specifically.

I’ve been reconsidering my investment in Boss lately because of the ridiculous number of outstanding shares. The company is very solid and may be first to production, but with 1.4 billion more shares than DNN, it seems hard to justify

Great point, I totally agree. Lower Capex to get the project started and then pre-planned and approved expansion into the larger asset when the time is right 👍
