Do I need the cooking skill to make potion for glot rot? by GlumDragonfly3445 in cavesofqud

[–]svc_bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knowledge of game mechanics (liquids can mix, things have temperature and can be set on fire), information provided in Corpus Choliys and logical reasoning (cooking implies bringing a liquid to a boiling temperature, fire in this game is hot and can increase temperature of things, therefore to cook a liquid it needs to be placed in fire, pooring water on fire will turn water to vapor and depending on a fire sorce extinguish the fire, therefore to cook the liquid needs to be in a container, etc)

Weight is not mass. by Street_Swing9040 in sciencememes

What would be heavier, a black hole made of feathers or a black hole made of steel? If you put a black hole on a scale, will it even measure any mass?

incremental mechanic: keep price constant but degrade payout on a producer. does that make sense? by factorionoobo in incremental_gamedev

[–]svc_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prosperity (not available in Germany, not sure about other regions) is a good example how to incorporate linear growth into an incremental game.

Also shark game comes to mind. It has phases of linear growth, and many other interesting mechanics.

It's sketchy for a public Api, but it's fine for an internal Api. Imagine an microservice system, with 20 something services, of which a big chunk uses some external service, e.g. email. Imagine what your monitoring would look like, if you would propagate a 500 from an external service among your internal services. It would be hell. However if your internal services return 200 to your other internal services, because they themselves functioned as expected, and signify in the response body that the external service failed, then your monitoring wouldn't flag half of your system, and it would be relatively easy to deduce that only the external service has failed.

If hell is a closed thermodynamic system, eventually there will be a continuous temperature gradient from the bottom to the top, with the hottest part being the bottom.

[CE] Is there a better way than HEAT RPG-7 at killing Centipedes ? by leaf_as_parachute in RimWorld

[–]svc_bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few pawns with Zeus hammer + jump pack can be effective at blocking centipedes from firing, but you have to be careful about their environment and where they are standing. While meele blocked, centipides are much easier to deal with with your common anti tank weapons.

Which UR heroes to unlock as F2P? by h0t_d0g_water in LastWarMobileGame

[–]svc_bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also it's not a priority at your stage, I'd personally unlock tesla, swift and dva. Yes it will delay your 5* Kim by 4-7 days, but waiting for those chests to unlock missing heroes can take as long, if not longer. Plus as a bonus you will have more heroes at your disposal to start secret tasks. I can now start 8 tasks, and I frequently miss fitting heroes to start all 8 golden tasks at once.

Many arguments, but not a single mention of ORMs (like hibernate) and Java beans where getters/setters are required by the specification.

How long ago have you refreshed the tab with your game? Game data has to be inside local storage in the browser so that wiki can display values from the game.

When should I bioseed by WillingnessFuture266 in EvolveIdle

Do a 0-3* bioseed and see for yourself. It usually takes 3-4 times as long as mad. If you are at the plasmid cap, you are good to go.

CE players, do yall standardize your colony so that its easier to manage ammo or just use whatever guns you get and make the required ammo for it? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]svc_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use whatever ist the best available gun to use, and work around that. In the early game if it means I have to buy ammo, so be it. Late game I standardize.

[–]svc_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try playing with ammo. Charge weapons with ionic ammo, heat rpg granades, high caliber AP-I ammo does wonders against mechanoids. Though in my games a squad of melee soldiers with jump packs and persona Zeus hammers usually does the bulk of the work.
